SPEEDO FROM 26,000KMS BACK TO ZERO!
hey i know a guy who is selling a speedo for our car. the speedo has 000001 on it. the car was brand new on the delivery truck that was carring it fliped and rolled. i plugged this speedo into my car and sure enough not even one km on it. how much should i pay for this speedo? im guessing its worth big bucks just because no kms on it. and like whos going to know drive it back to 26,000kms and thats it. no penitaly for over kms. well you guys let me know what you think.
i don't have that much money for soemthing like that but i did win in court for my other civic!

Thats a pretty useful thing to have if you lease or plan to lease a car. Just get a plan with super low kms so you have a cheaper monthly rate and then swap it out in about a year or 2 so you knock the kms in half.
Pretty evil. But then I guess they keep track of your kms when you bring it in for service so its not that feasable after all.

well if you swap out your gauge cluster it displays 0 mileage...but i'm sure somewhere in that ECU it's got it stored...
and i believe the cluster costs about 180? i think ...
by the way you know this is illegal right?

oops i forgot to mention that...but yeah swifty's correct...
and as long as when you go sell your car or any thing requiring proper mileage you have it documented how much mileage you had + what you have now then it's all good.
but if you're trying to pass your car off with a lower mileage then..
1) The ECU doesn't store information like that.
2) You can blank out everything in the ECU by unplugging your battery
3) That is illegal, and I hope you get caught
4) The speedo isn't the only place the KM's are recorded.
