Pinched...
3 tickets last night:
$154 - illegal muffler (cop didn't even check for a cat, but apparently a free-flow straight through muffler is illegal in this province)
$154 - illegal headlights (no amber reflector)
$52 - smoked license plate cover
I have the Magnaflow cat-back system, and really had no idea that this was illegal. It's not even that loud. Christ, people running stock rusty mufflers with holes in them are louder than me (btw, we don't have emissions testing here). Luckily I had my windows rolled down so he couldn't see my 15% tint. I've been driving over 5 years with them and nothing has happened yet. Anyway, I'm sort of bummed about this sh*t, I've only had the exhaust and headlights on for about a month...I'd really hate to change them back. The cop was a real ***** with me also. Vive le Québec everyone. Anyone else with similar experiences?

Re: Pinched...
the exhaust, just take it to get inspected and they will say its fine (unless its illegal to modify the stock exhaust). for headlights, just buy a cheap pair of orange reflectors and slap em on the sides of the bumper for inspection. and remove the plate cover, thats illegal everywhere.

Got love the police dept
They're like societies janitors....they come clean up the mess...& fine hardworkin people....
Magnaflo is all over emissions & bein legit......I would fight the muffler ticket..

Re: Pinched...
Not just Quebec, in Alberta any exhaust other than oem is a ticketable traffic offence
. However the only people I know getting these tickets have the 4'' tip fart cans, just another reason to stay away.

Hmm...you don't say. Well that's pretty lame. I read a pamphlet issued by the Quebec government today about modified cars. I guess you're allowed to change your exhaust, as long as it's not louder than the original setup (What's the point?). I'm going to change my headlights back to OEM, but just black them out. Already changed my license plate cover to a clear one, and lastly, and I really hate to say this, but I might chop off the MagnaFlow muffler and put something a little more 'low profile' in its place. I was thinking of a *cough* Ractive Stealth MT700...the flat black one. It looks pretty stock. Anyone else have any experience with this product?

Re: Pinched...
how about just paint the magnaflow muffler flat black with hi temp paint and just leave the end chrome? then if you get stopped, just say its a tip you put on the end of the stock muffler lol.
