they are always on automatic..maybe it's a settings??

There should be a dial on the drivers side of the dash (assuming you're in an LHD car, it should be on the left side of the steering wheel). This is assuming that it isn't a rotating switch off the steering wheel like every other car.

Look through the owner's manual. It's likely a setting that can be found in the vehicle settings on the radio display.
