i was driving this weekend on 16th ave when i saw a cop behind me with his lights on.
i was only about 10 over the spped limit, i was not too happy...
he come to my window and says he likes my car, and he is giving me a $175 ticket.
i politely ask him why, and he says because of my front lights.
i have super white turn signal and parking lights that are blue bulbs but white when they flash.
he says blue lights are illegal, only amber and white...
so i ask him to go to the front of the car, and i turn on my hazards.
he is supprised the flash white not BLUE!!!
he say ok have a nice day...
ha ha ha

so are you saying that you got out of the ticket?
and also wouldn't that be a warning / fix it ticket and not a fine?
or is that normal fines in your area?

It would have been smart to turn on your headlights, parking lights and tail lights so they will illuminate white. The cop can go **** a goat because no where in the HTA does it say blue is illegal, just flashing blue, and if you didnt signal than its not flashing.
exact same thing happened to me.. took a day off from work last summer and decided to go to a shop. On the way I see this cop that was like 2 cars ahead of me. This was in the day time so my parking lights were not on, therefore it was reflecting blue. He fully stops and waits until I passed, at the same time causing some confusion on the road. I was like, WTF is this **** doin?? He gets behind me and next thing you know... siren comes on and lights flashing..... SUM-MUM-MAH-BITZ!!!!
I turned n my hazards and to his surprise, it was white... hah! SO he let me off for the lights but the bitz gave me a ticket for my freakin' muffler. It was extremely hot out so my muffler was really loud, so it's okay!

for the fine ticket ... you can fix it and ask the judge to reduce your fine or even cancel the ticket...
Defend your self. Say that no where under the HTA states that weather blue constant lights are illegal. How flashing blue lights are represented on snow removal vehicle however your headlights were not flashing. For turnsignals, just claim they are white, take a picture when they flash and give it to the judge, most likely they'll throw the case out.

I can't wait for a cop to pull me over for my blue side markers.
I got pulled over a couple months ago (didn't know they are illegal), but the cop let me go for that and gave me a ticket for my expired plates. So for a quick fix, I re wired my side markers to a switch in my car for the neon rods inside my car (so now they don't flash). I want a cop to pull me over just so I can be like, "stop wasting my time, they don't flash so you're wrong, BIATCH!"

So is blue legal or not?
From florida law:
