Honda service schedule
Does anyone here actually follow to the letter the Honda recommended servicing schedule for their cars?
I was in today getting an oil change (I'm at 30K km), which I've been doing roughly every 8K or 4 months as they recommend and looking at the board in the service dept. they recommend this 'Type C' service at 32K which is almost $200 and the details are mostly inspect this, inspect that, seems like a big waste of money!
I didn't do the 'Type B' service at 16K because the only thing extra besides the Oil change that you got for your $70 was wheel rotation and 'brake inspection' and I had just put my new rims and rubber on so I didn't need the wheels rotated, so I just got the oil changed.
Any opionions?

dont bother with those package.
they dont change anything or top anything up
all they do is INSPECT and after they INSPECT they will tell u this need to be replace..it's recommended for your safty blah blah blah
i honestly tell u i do my own maintenance and i havent done a single package from honda since i bought my car new in 2001.
i changed my oil at the dealer 3 times and i never went back. i buy my own oil now at cost and go to my dad's friend garage and change it and they do way better job inspecting my cars and charge a fraction of what honda charges
just my 2 cents

Ya I figured if anything actually needed work and was not warranty I would not take it to Honda, I'm only taking it there for oil changes cause they actually are pretty cheap (Crappy tire charged me like $50+tax because they had to use single bottles of 5w20 oil) and it would be better to have records from someone at least until warranty runs out to prove that I actually did get the oil changed, whereas changing it yourself you dont have anything, just in case anything ever happened.
$200 is a lot of money for just inspections. Just about any non-dealership garage will inspect your brakes or anything else just about for free.
