BMW 328i vs Toyota Celica GT (modded)

Yes, it's a streetracing story. Not me, I was just the witness, my brother was behind the wheel. For the record, it's a 2001 Celica GT, with Injen CAI, cat-back exhaust and TRD springs (which really helps take offs).

Anyway, we out tonight for a quick lap, and saw this silver bimmer (last gen model) running around pretty quick. We both came to a stop, and my brother took off quickly at green, then slowed down and waited. The bimmer did a fly by! I checked the badge, and it read "328i"... doh!! He had the double spoke rims, so it confirmed it. And I noticed it was stick shift.

But what the hell, at the next light, we gunned it and he waited again and did another fly by. Okay. Whatever... we waited at the next light, and he took off first this!

Enough mind games! So the next light, I told him to have a run.. so he revs it up.. and we both take off! We lurged ahead 1st gear (roughly 60km/h), and maintaned a 1/2 car length advantage.

Not bad, I thought!! After all, it's a stick BMW 328i! But pure luck, I thought.

Next light, he was PISSED! He started revving a lot more aggressively, and he was ready to go!! So we peel off again, and same result--we were half car length ahead and actually pull on him top of 2nd. But into 3rd, the 328i started catching up and pulled pass us.

It was exciting!! So we went AGAIN... same result as last time... only this time, we both flew by a sitting cop. Holy daaaamn!! We both fled like bandits.... nobody got caught. Thank God.

Yes, this is right after I got a ticket LAST NIGHT for the washroom stint.. but whatever. I don't race anymore myself, but my brother's big time into it. He's got clover growing out of his ears though--he got pulled over 15 times for racing/speeding, and not once he lost any points. Unreal.

But anyway.... I thought it was a good race. Much closer than I antipated. I know there's going to be a lot of disbelievers, but I'm just telling you what I witnessed. He's smoked old 325's before (the mini-me bimmers), but never raced a newer one before.

Of course, the other guy might have been an *** monkey of a driver... you never know. From what I saw, him shifting his gears almost right next to my window, it looked like he knew what he was doing... but like I said, you never know.

I'm GUESSING he's a shitty driver, because 328i was tested at 0-60mph 7.0s last time in Motor Trend a long time ago. I know mods help, but my brother's Celica is not THAT quick!

Iamfob... what about a 5.0L Mustang Vs. our Civic... are you saying we'll take it on the first 60 (FEET) cause were lighter...The BMW was probibly a crappy driver...

the 5.0 torque monster will eat out our ***' from beggining to end... weight only plays such a small part

plus the 320 series aren't that fast ... its the 330... that you should look out for
