dude, that isnt what he is saying, he is saying you can get a motor and have it installed for less than what you are getting the motors for.

well i know someone on the board who is doing the swap and he paid $under $8000 installed with the TYPE S engine...so the price of the motor is around $3500 to -4500 depending on your link if i am not mistaken..the big thing here is the mounts for the engine those are at least a $1000 alone ....and then there is the labour and the small other parts you need etc etc...so yeah under $15000 is pretty broad...if it was under $8000 installed then that is a good price...

Actually... going price on these motors is still around $5000-$7500. And as far as I know, you still need the key so the engine has to be legit with papers. HASport mounts are in the $1500 range and for labour.. I wouldnt imagine any less than $2000 since it's such a rare swap and no one locally has done it yet.

still> call me if u want $$!

i say if u guys are smart is too hold out till warranty is up!
1st off,,, right now it seems the TYPE S is a rare commodity.
therefore there is not much inventory on the engines as of yet!

but from doing alot of reading on the K series engines, your better off with them then the B series motors... just b/c the new motor has so much potential, even Jap tuners are finding HONDA's new I-VTEC to be awesome for tuning.

nothing against b series, but id do a b series or a h series swap in the older civics.

thats my point.
but still the price of the TYPE S is pretty decent...

now im guesing thats a USDM motor???
and does it come with the cross member???

later

type S is good (all motor)
but turbo the **** out of a B series is even better (B18B)

just wait for more ppl total their RSX-S then the price will be lower
now it is still a hard to find engine in junk yards so ppl want top $$$ for them

I thought $4500 was high until I realized that you get all of the stuff you dont get when you buy just an engine. This way you get the immobilizer and all of the other stuff.

I made a call and found that they are willing to sell the complete car for $4750 which includes the leather seats and shipping would be about $500 to canada.

SAY WHAT?!?!?!

the complete (smashed, obviously) car!??!?! that's insane!!!!!!!

you've gotta be kidding me! for $4750?! d00d, the seats alone are worth a ton of cash...let alone everything you could possibly want for the swap.

jesus, $5250 shipped is freakin intense! I'm imagining its USD, but shizit, that's awesome.

if only I had the cash

I don't usually bash anyone but your retarded or a liar. Why the hell would you buy a whole damn car just for seats and a radio that won't fit???

I am not a liar and already have the drivetrain. I actually need more than the seats and radio...They are not going into a Civic...they are going into a custom car.

I DID buy the complete car today because I can get a better deal on what I need and sell the drivetrain to someone who really wants one at a good price and i can make a few bucks unloading some parts on my own.
