right next to the F12 button is the print screen button...
hit it and then open up MS Paint...(start button -> programs -> accessories -> paint)
paste (ctrl-v) and click ok to enlarge the bitmap...

or paste it in photoshop or any image/photo editing program

print screen doesn't do anything but capture ur desktop to memory... so since it doesn't do anything, it seems like "it doesn't work"..
you have to actually paste it into a program for it to work....
