Insurance Question (G1)
Since most of you gone through this process, maybe someone can help to explain.
I just got my G1, and taking driving school on Wednesday. Do I need to add my name to the insurance policy of my dad's car? I remember reading somewhere when you get your G1, there is no need to add your name or something... can't remember. If you do, is there an increased premium?

Rep Power: 0 When you have ur G1... there is no need to add ur name... once u get ur G2... then it would be good if u add'd urself as a occasional driver so that u can have an insurance record... so that later on when u get ur own car, it'll be cheaper...

No there is no need really to add you name ... you may want to tell your broker just in case, that way if your driving with your parents and you do get into an accident, your broker knows of the situation - as long as you have your parents permission to drove the vehicle, you will be ok ... and yes, when you get your G2, your rates will likely increase ....
