Yeah the new layout makes it really user friend. The only complaint I have is that fact that this site is slow as hell now.

i like the layout, color scheme and that we have more options to play around with. it is kinda slow, but i think Derek said they're working on that problem.

It's partially because DNS hasn't propegated it's way around the world yet. So you're working on a limited link of DNS servers. In fact some ppl probably can't get this site this week. Their DNS server may still send them back to the old address, esp. if their DNS server is in the same authoritative group as the one that hosts the old site.

when you say 'old address,' you mean IP address, right? so when we go to this site, we're using their DNS servers? i thought if you have an ISP like Road Runner, you'd be using Road Runner's DNS servers. it's not the Web server by any chance?

Well, DNS authenticating server at your ISP talks to the rest of the world to update Domain Name Servers what IP a Domain Name points to. So because 7thgencivic.com was pointing at an old IP it takes 48 hours for the DNS server to notify the rest of the world that 7thgencivic.com will point to a new IP.

It doesn't matter which DNS server you use, a change will always take that long... DNS server only tells the browser which IP a name points to, and have nothing to do with web server... Sorry, got too technical.
