had an alpine deck in my accord in the philippines... very crisp sound all throughout (with JBL speakers, amp, sub)... the decks lack the "WOW" of other more visually pleasing decks like from sony, jvc, panasonic, but alpines give super clear sound with minimum distortion

and oh, my accord had the alpine deck since 96 and it still works and looks brand-spanking new! the display survived the heat of the tropics in the philippines

i LOVE my apline deck.. if i ever got another one, it would be alpine
very good SQ although it does lack some of the visual 'wow' that the other decks have
i definately do not regret buying it
if you want any more specific info.. just pm me

Well Alpine and Clarion offer the best entry level HU's on the market.. Alpine has a more proven reputation for reliability...

Entry level meaning cheapest model....so few companies care enough to make their low end stuff good. Alpine does.. Their HU's throughout their whole product range are very very good. you can NEVER go wrong with an alpine!

I got the Alpine CDA 7894, I love it for its crisp and clear sound...it has the time correction, which is kinda cool and plays mp3's flawlesy so far, only crap thing is during the day it's kinda hard to see the display, but thats something that dosent really bother me.
