for sympatico you have to live less than 3km from a bell station ... i lived 3.2 km from the station and my service sucked, it was only 1.5 times faster then a 56k modem. sympatico doesnt tell you this s**t until you complain about your service. i went with rogers.

rogers is better...
you're constantly connected (unlike connecting with Sympatico)
in addition to the transfer cap, sympatico is capped at a 13 kbps upload...

but i guess if you're big on reliability and leeching, then go with sympatico...
you need flexibility on transfering files, then go with rogers...

it all depends on the area ur in. if there are too many ppl in ur area with cable then.. ur connection is gonna be SHYT. thats when u know its good to go with BELL

i get pretty good speeds where i live...
it's probably because i have no neighbourhood...
anyways...
if you really want DSL and u are willing to shell out the $$, try ILAP to get your own dedicated line... I know some ppl who are using it and they are loving it...

I have Rogers at home, and while generally it is ok, sometimes they do have technical difficulty. They also cut my neighbours cable and this affected my Internet service too.

I have Bell Business High-speed DSL at work (not sure if it is the same as Sympatico) but it is waaaay faster than cable at home. I ALWAYS get 250kb/s and Web pages load instantly, whereas at home I sometimes get 250kb/s but usually <100kb/s.

but i'm using rogers at home.....and sympatico at work....

i think they're both more or less the same, except that somehow when i download music, rogers seem to be WAY faster! and it's doesn't mater what tie, sympatico is just SLOW when i have to download music...

Business DSL is 3MB, whereas residential is 1MB (they claim 1.5, but yah right, it's only 1). PLUS it's much more likely that you're closer to the central switch when you're in an office building.

Rogers do have their downtime, but the overall bandwidth is better, so if you have multiple ppl on a line it's more robust.

I agree with BOO... get Rogers cause they don't have a cap on how much you can DL... Knowing you, you need all the space for your drifting vids. ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM

Rogers is good. I have no problems with them. But I have a corporate line with them. So I cannot complain.
