And how much would i expect to pay trading in my 02 LX-G with OEM spoiler, rust-proofing, OEM alarm, 5yr extended warranty?

I really like the EL's sound insulation, leather and overall look to it... is it worth it?

yes. it is a fairly good trade if it was like 2 to 3 grand more i tink its worth it.
after .. if u want the top of the line EL its really worth it.
it comes with moon roof hahaha..
but if it was up to me ive get a RSX unless u can only 4 doors then the EL is a good choice

Yeah, the EL is a good car. Worth the trade. I was going to get one, manual tranny, but I stuck with the Civic because my wife cannot drive manual. I loved that car. But I love my Civic even more now.

It's the same car, except for a few fancier things, and a few more $$$$. According to me, it's not worth it, because you get the differnet taillights, but then again, you can't replace them with altezza's, and you get the 16 inch rims, but you could get the Sport model or the EX with rims (and the 2003 rims are the same as the '99 si rims which are really nice), and then you get the wooden trim inside and leather, but hey, you can get all that from honda and it's probably cheaper all together.. Thats just my opinion.

hmmm let's see... can you guys point out the extras the EL has over the LX-G sedan?
here are some i can think of:
- 4wheel disc brakes
- leather (mmm mmm)
- moonroof
- acura badging
- rear and front-end look really nice
- alloy wheels
- sound insulation (deaden the sound of them hampsters under the hood [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/IMG])
- VTEC (sorta makes up for the added weight, but i think an LX-G is still faster, i may be wrong)
- yummy optional Aero kit
- ... can anyone add to this?

my only rants are obviously the price, the rattles aren't gone (i think), less customizable than an LX-G, might add to my insurance (i already pay 490 on state farm per month!!!!), hmmm what else...

I really don't think the EL was any more than the Civic Si. When I was shopping for cars a few years back, it was a toss up between the Si Coupe and 1.7EL Touring, +/- $100 or so.

Basically, in Canada we don't get the EX Sedan, sedans only go up to LX. Si Coupe is EX level. The 1.7EL is the sedan counterpart, but they just decided to re-badge it under Acura.

I wouldn't recommend the leather. It is fairly cheap, prone to cracking from what I've gathered on EL forums. I'd stick with the Touring model with cloth seats, the cloth is pretty high quality. Plus you don't slide around when you take corners hard! [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]

If you go with the 5-speed Touring, you'll be at the same price point as a Si Coupe with group package.

trust me man, u will lose large if u trade in your 02 civic now. my 01 civic has 28,000km and come with extended warranty, rust proof from honda and oem spoiler and all the options and the dealer gave me $15,000 for trade in toward the 02 SiR. he said the reason why the civic dont worth as much as the 6th gen (when they are 2 yrs old) is because there's way too many civic on the road so it reduces their value. so in my opinion just stick to what u have. i mean u are jumping from 115 to 127HP and fabric to leather (if u get the top of the line)
