Need tint...

...anybody know a good place to get my windows tinted...and please don't say Tint King. I went to the one on Eglington and the guys there seem shady. I wouldn't trust them with 5 dollars nevermind keeping my car for a couple hours. Who knows what parts they could strip off my car in that time.

Thanks, I'll give them a try.

$230 is reasonable, I'm assuming that price includes taxes.

Don't get the tint done now!!!! It too cold for the adheisive to apply correctly. You'll get bubbles...
Wait till the spring time when you can park you car in the direct sun for a couple of days.
You'll regret doing it now...

go to fxauto in Markham. they are the best and they have semi metalic and metalic films that blocks out more then the regular dyed films.. their prices are pretty good as well.. what I like the best is the their cuttin gof the tint. clean smooth cuts cuz they have a machine to do rather then just hand cut like the other shops

I second FX Auto... The owner is real good, and takes the time to explain. My 100% Premium metallic tint is the bomb Whatever you do though, if you do get a windshield banner (which they give for free), make sure it's 20% or darker! I have the 35% banner and it's basically useless in the summer sunshine

i agree with xian, i had my windows done on my last ride around this time of year. they turned out ****, and everyone i know who has had it done this time of year regrets it. wait till its at least 15 degrees outside. your tint will set better on your windows and plus you dont have to go as long without rollin'em down.

Thanks man! I actually waited until mid-summer to do mine. Best thing I have ever done. It looks amazing!!!
The "glue-haze" was gone after one day sitting outside in the 30C baking sun.

HIGHLYreflective, please take our advice on this...

Thanks for the advice guys. Good thing you told me, I would have gone out tomorrow and got it done.

How much do they charge at fxauto?

When it comes to tint, you need to ask yourselft one question. How long are you going to keep the car?
If its going to be short-term (1-3 years) don't bother spending over $220.
If its going to be long-term(3+ years) spend the money.

I paid $290 for my tint last year. No bubbles anywhere.
It came with lifetime warranty on the tint, and six years of labour. You should take these into consideration too.

You should also determine if you want "metalized" tint (I think thats what its called) over "normal" tint. The first being that it won't fade over time as quickly as the second...but it costs a little more.

Good luck!

I've had 4 cars tinted in the winter and did 2 of them myself and no bubbles whatsoever
Don't get rookies to do your car and you won't regret it

i also plan to get my windows tinted... btw, won't metallic tint in the back window interfere with the AM/FM radio reception?

i have a small question.
on the rear window (i think the top part) we have some different texture (like dot matrix i think) would the tint be sticky on that area without making any bubbles? and also the brake light in the rear window, are they going to tint the bottom part of the light or they just cut the tint around it??

hope u guys know what i am talking about

u gotta tell them to tint rear break light, or else they will just go around it.
and as for weather, u should do it in the summer, i did mine a month ago, looks ok but the rear has a few bubbles if u look up close

From what I remember it wasn't the normal tint that will fad out in a couple of years. I believe it was a metallic type of tint, but not like a silvery metallic like a mirror. Check out my pics on for my profile.

Btw, iamfob, you don't need to worry about getting bubbles around the textured part of the window (I know what you're referring too). Just park the car out in direct sunlight for a couple of days, you'll be fine. Oh, the shop that did my tint didn't "cut around" my brake light. They did it properly without me even asking for it!!

Hence another reason why I wasn't looking at just the price, but the workmanship and THEIR reputation!!!!
