I always thought RICE simply meant "bad taste"

nothing to do with speed.

RX7 with APC lights, no matter how fast, will be labelled 'RICE' at least in my book.

I thought "rice cars" refer to the stereotypical asian owned cars (eg. civic, prelude, corolla) that are suped to typical asian stylez...(which I guess are the stickers, etc...)

Hahaha...

rice ( P ) Pronunciation Key (rs)
n.
1. A cereal grass (Oryza sativa) that is cultivated extensively in warm climates for its edible grain.
2. The starchy grain of this plant, used as a staple food throughout the world.

But for real... I think this word is over used. I browse the web and most people use this word way to often. What the word "RICE" is consided to be is as follows:
Aluminum Spoilers
LED windshield washer lights
LED muffler tips
LED valve stems
Too many stickers all over the car
Chrome hub caps
Some Altezza tails
5" or bigger exhaust tips
Crappy sounding exhausts
Home made body kits (Yes I've seen some around)
Improper badging (ie. putting a Type R badge on a NON Type R vehicle, etc...)

The list goes on...

Also, just thought I'd clearify. I have never and will probably never use the word "Rice" in a derogatory manner in any way to humiliate or insult another persons vehicle (unless a persons car is completely horrible). I'm not here to judge other people nor their tastes in what they like to do.
I was more then willing to helped some of my friends install LED windshield washer lights to their car and I never knock them on what pleases them because... it's THEIR car.

the word rice when referring to cars is very subjective...some say rice is bad taste...others say rice is all show...others say rice is all show and no go...and others think that tacky stuff is rice....

but rice is wutever u want to make of the word....there's no true definition....
