adding VTEC head to an LX motor
adding VTEC head to an LX motor
does anyone know what parts i would need to replace to put the VTEC head on the motor?
i know the intake manifold would probably have to change...but i'm not sure what else would need to be changed...
just wondering if its worth my while...

Do you have any idea how much gain this would be? and yours is automatic rite?..
if i were you i would just save the money for manual conversion...
my frd has a 1.7el i think some of u have seen it..he did the civic conversion..
his is vtec and it's auto... i have tried his car when vtec kicks in it feels nothing..
he has cold air intake and cat back exhaust.. but he still lose too me..

honestly man..
dont waste your money in tearing a perfectly good working car for a hybrid which who knows will work?!!?!?!
save $$$$ till more engines are in inventory and then replace the slow bastard....
thats what im doing, if not, go custom turbo man!!!
but dont swap into something when u aint going to get barely any gains!
its not worth the money... might as well throw the bottle in....

ok...
i'm only thinking about swapping the head because i can get the parts for DIRTY CHEAP.
i am saving up for a manual conversion...but i'm not going to bother swapping trannys till i swap motors...and since theres alot of life left on this motor its going to be awhile...
let me put it to u this way....i will get more gains from this than getting headers and its cheaper than DC headers...so....
1028...1.7EL is heavier than a civic...if you had exactly what he has then it would be a close race regardless...but i think u have more engine mods

Dude...it's cheaper to swap in an entire vtec engine than swap heads alone..thee's too much labour and hidden costs involved in that...
g to car-part.com and buy a new complete vtec engine
