HELP: On coil selection
what should i gert for coils:
GC or skunk2? i was at a shop and they suggested R1 full coils. whats the big diff b/w sleeved coils and full coils?
do full coils come with the shocks or is that still and add+ cost? I know for sleeved you gotta buy shocks.
i want to know what the real deal is with coils?
i know i coulda searched this, but to tell you the truth this was faster
if you have nothin to say thats relevent pls dont bother!

huge diff.. a true coilover systems shocks are tuned to the performance of the car and the strenght of the springs for a smoother more balanced predictable ride..
Sleeves and aftermarket shocks..like GC's and Koni's for ex...may not ride as good and may have odd pinging, craking, clunking or scratching noises to deal with..

big difference in my opinion along with what mohawk already stated is cost.....if you go with an aftermarket coil..plus shock....eg koni..it will end up being cheaper then getting for example....for our car..the TEIN SS..which is what i have on my car and IMO they ride great...they give you 16 way adjustable dampening...but those are the specs..i can get a full 24 way adjustability setting on the set i have....so its up to you....depends on what your budget is.....but i think both setups ride well..but the slight advantage to the TEIN because it is one unit..built for the specs of our lowly civic
