$$$100 parking ticket, ouch.

man i was at market village, i parked on the side of the road for like 5 mins with someone in the car (doesn't know how to drive) and got something no more that 5 mins. came back and the guy finished writing me a 100 fire route parking ticket. man what should i do? should i fight it for a lower penalty? would this be like a speeding ticket, so if the guy doesn't show up it gets dropped? that's just too much money for me to afford.

anyone knows if its like a speeding ticket so if the writer doesn't show up it gets dropped? anyone fight any kind of parking ticket?

i thought your post topic said $1000......than i would have said ouch...
i dont know if you can fight it or not...well you always can!! you may lower it a bit but i dont think you;'ll get it dismissed...were you parked in a CLEARLY marked fire route...
we were in florida last year and my friend is really lippy...he pulled over in a fire lane waiting for me to come out of the store. a cop pulled up and told him he was in a fire route and to move....he told the cop that when he saw the fire he'd move. than he got a $110 american ticket for mouthing off plus a $65 for parking there...
needless to say he never paid them, i dont even know the outcome......

but i dont think he can cross the border if he has outstanding tickets like that

I just got a $50 parking ticket for parking on the road overnight up here in Ottawa...holy f*kk was that ever a kick in the [IMG]i/expressions/moon.gif[/IMG]...I don't plan on paying it though...when I get my liscense renewed next year back in Guelph, if anything happens I'll tell them that I have never been to Ottawa...there must be a mistake...or even saying there was nothing on my car should work...

but getting nailed in a fire route is killer...you have to pay it...

if you parked in a fire route you SHOULD pay it ...What are you doing parking there??? Too bad there wasn't an emergency and then they would have smashed up your car ......

wtf u trying to say? u want me to go to ur house and smash ur car because it was in my path? like u never parked on the side of a store and ran in to get something. that's a fire route too.

u ever got caught speeding or even speed before? why do ppl go to court to get it dropped even though they know they were speeding?

ya coming to my house to smash my car because its in "your path" and parking in a fire route are the same thing ...???? And no I try to park in a proper spot, and I don't leave my car running....EVER.....Thats how cars get stolen .....And I try not to speed...My insurance is enough as its is .....and if I'm caught speeding I take my lumps and learn my lesson ......See if you park in a fire route , what's your defense??? "Umm there were no more spots officer, and I really needed that pack of smokes" If you get caught, you deserve it ...hence the words "get caught" ...

Don't bother with the reasoning "if you're caught, you deserve to pay" lol.

think of it this way.

AT LEAST u got a chance to lower or not pay your fine

that's what my thread was about, i wanted to know how parking tickets goes about fighting it. does the ticket writer have to be in court? in any case at least a lower fine would be nice.

see that was a retorical question - You DO NEED a reason ....And this "cop doesn't show" doesn't mean anything ...If the judge thinks its a valid charge they will enforce it weather the cop is there or not .....And No i do not smoke...so do i wish that all smokers would die??? No, believe me I don't have to wish .........
