as far as i have heard legacy amps suck, the power ratings on there are way over inflated, you wanna stay away from legacy's. you need a good quality amp it if sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If you want an amazing amp ... you should look at the old Kenwoods ... the KAC line ... mine is a KAC 923 ... this is when Kenwood made high end car audio amps ... now kenwood is like sony pretty mainstream ... but the old one's rock !!!

I'd rather have quality over quantity.. just because it can drive a speaker to pump out mega volume doesn't mean it's going to have good image.
I've had a few amps in the past.. Rockford Fosgate.. PPI.. Alpine.. JBL.. Pioneer.. they were mostly good, but I would say JBL & PPIs were my favourites as far as sound quality goes. PPI was very flexible..
I think Legacy probably does over-rate wattage, but that's pretty much same across all less known brands. They sell by advertising high wattage.. audio wattage is obviously very deceiving. RMS & Continueous ratings, power supplies, etc etc etc.. they all contribute to quality and quantity of sound.
In audio world, for the most part, you get what you pay for.
