I recently bought a new civic, and am now interested in putting in a good stereo system.

Any places around here or the rest of the GTA?

Any reccomendations for what I should be looking for?

I got about 800 bucks to spend.

$800 on the whole system...hmm you really can't get much if you want a good system or even a decent one...a decent head unit alone is $400 ...then there are subs..your components amps..etc...can get costly..future shop you can get a kenwood system for about $650 i think ..ask them...

Well this is my system:

-Alpine deck paid $150 don't worry it's good
-Alpine 5 channel amp $350
-Boston 12 inch sub $300
-Boston 6x9's $300
Those are ball park figures...

I am really really happy ith my system.

go check out 2001 Audio Video...... REMEMBER u can bargain there...... tell em to give u the best price..... ends up being A LOT less cheaper than futureshop.

Thanks for the info.

Right now i'm just thinking of a deck and perhaps speakers. Nothing else for now. Perhaps subwoofer later, in the spring.

I want a player that would accept cd-r and rw's.

thats what you think. tell a futureshop you just came from 2001 and they'll go way lower.

yeah but i dont think the selection at future shop is all that great, try going to best buys in mississauga, they own future shop and generally have a better selection. but i am not sure that you will find exactly the same thing at two shops, therefore it will be hard for you to price cut and negotiate. Maybe its me, but I think they do this on puprose, they dont stock the same brand as their competition for fear of being undercut or undercutting themselves, only my opinion.

i dont know if you feel like travelling but east hamilton radio is really good...

i get some deals to through a friend who knows a guy who works there!!!
ive never bought anything there before though except for my alarm
