Yup! even though it's coming out on the 15th i have it now and can play it! i'm a beta tester and it's awesome!
it's obvious it's still in the beta phase cause it lags a bit but every day it's improving! so by the 15th it should be all good!
I recomend XBox Live to anyone who has an XBox! the XBox comunicator works pretty well also it's fun to be able to talk to others while playing with them.
So far i've tried Moto GP, Whaked (which is probably one of the funniest games ever!), and NFL Fever 2k3 (which is alot of fun... and very addictive!!!).

i paid 50$ US for it... it comes with the headset a few game demos and a year subscription, it's worth the buy!

Reading this post makes me mad!! The PS2 Network thingy came out a month ago and is backlog...Worst is I can't even use it!!! My cable modem is in one room, and my PS2 and TV is in the other room! Argh! Well I guess I can....Just have like a 10 feet RJ45 going through the floors and stuff lol

or you can get the wireless router and a wireless adaptor for your ps2... but that will cost an arm and a leg... but at least you won't need to run cables all over the house! [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]

It's RC car racing. Interesting but no one plays since MotoGP got sent out to all the betas. I'm a third wave beta also, didn't get my memory card, t-shirt or Re-Volt.

So I conned M$ out of ReVolt. Called them up and told em my (non-existent) copy wasn't working. Same thing... call up 1-800-4MY-XBOX and tell 'em your NFL Fever 2003 isn't working (you get dirty disk error/game freezing) and they'll send you the retail version.

The retail doesn't work online until Nov. 15, it's locked out.

Oh another thing...

did u ever get the Retail version of MotoGP? If not, you should seek out a copy or rent it. Once you unlock the tracks you can use them online and get ranked. Plus you can also race with customized bikes.

I've had my copy since day 1 of it's release.

Forget the beta, they're not accepting anymore people besides Live goes live Nov. 15.

We paid $50 US plus shipping plus UPS broker fees to play earlier than everyone else.

The retail package will cost around $70 to $80 and be available on the 15th. I suggest you go pre-order from EB or something cause last time I was talking to the guys I get my stuff through, there were huge pre-orders for XBL. If you don't have it reserved, then you're probably not gonna get a package when XBL goes live.

doh, forgot... damn doing that a lot today.

The cost of the package includes your first year subscription to XBL. After 1 year, there'll be monthly subscriptions but from what's been mentioned, the fee is small.

It's best if you have a router at home so you don't have to switch your cable/dsl modem back and forth between the X-box and your PC.

Don't worry yet....

I think a few guys did say they called and told XBL support about their demo disks and were told they were going to be shipped another demo disc but ended up receiving the retail version.

Cool! Here's a quick summary of the current games for Live,

MotoGP

- Awesome motorcycle racing, each race can have 16 people online. The Xbox live (XBL) disc comes with the online demo version. You can have 3 other players with you on your system to race online. Having the full version will make bikes (+custom ones) and tracks available for online use.

Whacked

- Demo comes on the XBL disc. Touched it once, I won't touch it again. Some crazy gameshow type game where you run around trying to collect stars whislt killing your opponents.

Sega Sports 2K3

- You got NBA, nuff said! I'm thinking about getting NHL. Then there's NFL.

NFL Fever 2003

- ....if you're into football....M$ sent me mine for free.

Unreal Championship (UC)

- My take? Halo on drugs. Superfast, super-chaotic fragfest. Allows for 4 players per xbox to play online.

MechAssault (MA)

- choose a Mech, get on the field and blow away your opponent. Allows for 2 players per xbox to play online.

Ghost Recon (GR)

- Stealth based tactical first person shooter, team based. A change from the fury and chaos of other first person shooters. Only allows for one person per xbox though.

so CB, what games do you have? so far i have ghost recon and splinter cell (although you can't really play splinter cell online but you can download new levels)
probably getting Unreal Championship next week! this is gona be an expensive month.

Anyways Splinter Cell is gona be the game of the year, a MUST BUY to anyone with an XBox!!!!!

It's $249 at EB, been throwing a bit of cash into it here and there so it doesn't take such a huge chunk out of my wallet all at once. *sigh* all my hard earned cash goes straight to my cars and games...

The sequel is gonna be LIVE compatible. Plus there's a secret game in development that will use the controller too.
