2003 sedan
Are you sure those are EK SiR rims?
They look like they have a groove in the middle of each spoke. There are the same number of spokes as the EK SiR rims.
Check it out on www.honda.com

I also like that they are offering the 2003 LX-Sport Sedan in blue with the grey interior. I really like the blue but did not want beige interior... man I wish I had waited for an '03 LX-Sport, moonroof would be great.
I noticed the prices went up though, MSRP on the 2002 LX-Sport was only $20,500 I think, now its $21,400 !!
I guess thats how much the moonroof is worth. (???)

Looks like they got rid of beige interior on all of the '03 sedans @#$@ only reason I got black was so I could get grey interior (didn't want silver exterior)
That new Green is kinda ugly looking though, I'll have to see it in person sometime though.

Studying the '03 Sedans some more...
03 LX-Sport now includes Leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter, someone said the steering wheel looks worse but I haven't seen it yet, just reading the spec sheet, and also as pointed out it has the 'open' front headrests
Also has Carbon Fibre look instrument panel and console, can't say what it actually looks like.
It has the spoiler and alloy wheels, but I don't actually see anything about the OEM skirts on the honda.ca specsheet, are these no longer included? I thought they were the best part about the '02 LX-Sport pkg (I'm not crazy about spoilers, and who really wants 15" OEM alloys)

Well, since 1.7 EL's are basicly a Civic with leather guts and a VTEC engine in the 4 door, I'll post up. I just ordered a 1.7 EL 2003, it should be here in a couple weeksI don't know the diff. from the 2002 to the 2003, but when it comes home I will post up some pics!
the 2k3 civic comes with a moonroof?...cmon...
i personally think they should just not have the 1.7EL and have the EX civic like the states.
the 1.7EL is just a fully loaded civic....its not really an acura.
just my opinion tho...

I agree, I'd much rather see a Canadian Sport-Sedan top end Civic EX/LX-Sport with the Vtec engine and some nice features like moonroof, body kit, nice alloys than the EL....
EL is like a small sedan trying to be a luxury car to me... I just don't get it personally. It's not how I envision a loaded Civic sedan. If you buy an EL thinking you own a luxury car you are kidding yourself, everyone knows its just a Civic with the Acura label on it.
If its not a true loaded Civic, and its not an Acura, then what is it exactly?
I do see plenty of them on the road though so obviously some people like them. *shrug*

Draven's right, you can only get 4 wheel discs on the SiR for a civic, as for the comment about the "EL not being a luxury car" that is very true and that isn't why I bought it, I bought it because it is probably faster then a stock 7th Gen Canadian LX and how many people do you see doing anything to a 1.7 EL? I wanted to also be original.

Personally I don't like the styling of the EL as much as the 7th gen Civic... for Honda to force Canadian buyers who want a bit more performance than the standard 1.7L civic engine and still want a sedan, to have to pony up the extra change for an EL with 'luxury' features like wood trim, and the premium Acura nameplate bugs me. The Touring EL still doesn't come with a moonroof and you have to step up the Premium and pay for leather to get it.
Hey 1point7EL
What was your final price with everything?
i'm also considering a 1.7EL, but not sure if i get a BIG discount on the 2002 when the 2003 is here.
When u find out the difference of 2002 and 2003, remember to tell us!

Well, I got the premium, with leather, moon-roof, and in dash 6 CD changer, and I have taken off the woodtrim.
I just picked it up, it was supposed to come in like 1 and 1/2 weeks, but it came in early. The total came to about $24,890.00 + Taxes, but I
traded in my car that I owned before (97 Civic EX) and got about $8,000.00 taken off the total, so I only payed taxes on $16,890.00. Then I
bought back my civic, and sold it for $10,500.00. Doing it that way I saved money, plus, it gives me a nice down payment of $3,500.00!
Should have it payed off in a little while! And the diff. between the 2002 and the 2003 models in price is about $500.00 bucks! I figured I
might as well go with the new one, so I bought the 2003 instead.
OH and about the price of the 1.7 EL to the Civic, it's about $4,000.00-$5,000.00 extra you cheapasses

Oh, wing0, definately get the 1.7 EL, it's a nice handling car, and get the dealer to put on Michelin tires instead of the firestones, because if you look around the lot, all the TL's, CL's have them! And IMO Firestone are crappy tires!

hum..... my buddy bought a 1.7EL.... he said it came up to $28k...... i picked up my civic at $20........ thatz 8k worth of mods.... i could freakin put a type-r with lsd.
Thanks 1point7EL
about that tire issue. How much extra did u have to put into it to get the michelin tires instead of the firestone? I bet if i get some tires from crappy tire that it's still going to be better than those firestone.

Hey troll dude, civics are cool! They have as much potential as any other car! The tires were $75 extra per tire and plus they got rid of the other ones for me! Im going for a cruise, see ya!

actually...the reason u don't see that many done up 1.7ELs is because there isn't an aftermarket for it.
the 1.7EL is just different enough from civics so that you can't really do much to it except suspension and engine modifications.
unless you do custom work...$$$$
