Turbo or supercharger?

im not sure if the Jackson Racing or Vortech has come out wiht a KIT for the 02 civic.

but what do you think would be the best bet???
and the cheapest???

i like TURBO, well i always liked it but there is alot of changes thar are needed in order to run properly!

gimme your input.. oh yeah i would prefer the ALL MOTOR route.. but its too costly to get HP out of it... unless u got $$$$$

if your car is 5 Speed get turbo...cause it has a LAG..

If its Auto get a Supercharger....it runs the whole power ban...

Their website doesn't list 7thgen Civic... Does Vortech has supercharger for our 7th gen? If so how much would it cost to install one?

vortech super charger is known to cause slight problems with the life of the engine but its a good super charger.
and they only do DOHC engines no D series or SoHC engines
hahaha
if i were u. and seriously thinking bout boost.. which you are..
ive see custom TURBO haha

I've been told by "Turbo expert" that to have a good Turbo and everything that evolves around it, u'll have to spend at least 10k.....

hahaha...sure thats ur PRICE!
sides... no one ever told u to buy the parts off that TURBO EXPERT!
u can get it urself and build up all the pieces for it but essentially it will come out to about that price but u wont notice if u spend it little by little.

Umm, to properly do a turbo kit and get the most power of it, goes down to a lot more than just the bolt-on. Plus, it adds to the life of the engine to properly do everything. Such as high compression pistions, valves, rings etc... bore and stroke mods.

But then you're really getting into the hardcore mods and stepping away from simple low power bolt-ons.

And yes easily into the $10K range.

yeah that's what i meant.......

Basically , just the engine is about 4-5k, then add on everything else, such as high compression pistions, valves, rings etc... bore and stroke mods. it goes up to 10k.......

wat are u guys on?
turbo on a 5 speed.. that sounds good
but think bout it.. auto has the hardest time gettting off the line off the low end plus its mostly high end !!
haha personally ive throw in a turbo on a auto.
ex.!!
twin turbo supra ---> auto smokes the standard.
and the only ppl that make SC's is JAckson racing. and they arent making one just yet.
well if u get a mild turbo u can still off the stock internal but u have to change em out since they will wear out. haha..
personally my advice is either buy a better car or swap out the engine

you have to buy em all and install em all at the same time
cuz if ur buying turbo pistons, rings, etc etc etc and ur running N/A is not gonna do ur engine any good.
and what cb is sayin is if ur running HIGH BOOST.. not minimal boost to start up with !
5PSI is not gonna BLOw ur engine but if u want to run higher u do have to upgrade~

what are you on..?

turbo on an auto..? the lag will kill you, s/c's are much more desirable, the lag is much less...

twin turbo supra auto is faster than the stick version but thats an anomaly... doesn't happen in anything else...

Jackson racing is the only company that makes s/c's..? since when..?

and either way you're going to have to build up the internals first, but s/c's have a hell of a lot less maintenance...

and you can abuse a mild turbo just as much as a full-blown version...

it cant be as bad as now.
ok in terms of lag u mean the auto lag thats getting off the start?
haha..dude if u put a turbo in u would have the same pick up as right now (auto terms) and once the turbo kicks in it will haul. personally i dont see my self throwing a turbo in my car. i rather get something else worthy of such a mod!

1. you're the freakin' nos junkie. don't be posting up crap like that... its not funny...

2. you're also the turbo junkie. not my fault if you keep bouncing between ideas on stuff "to do". ask supyo...

3. you didn't specify s/c's for SOHC.

4. auto lag..? wtf..? try turbo lag... s/c's spool up faster and have better low-end torque.

5. VTEC is not a saving grace. just because you have VTEC doesn't mean you're faster than everyone... a lot of companies have some variant on VTEC on their cars...

EDIT: my bad... the vortech was a custom job...

yeah.... Supers can run from low RPM because its belt driven......so as soon as you step ont the gas its working....

as for turbo... the TURBINE has to collect air and force induct itself it the ingine... therefore creating lag....and by some chance the induction happens while the AUTO TRANNY is in MID SHIFT...

KAAABBBOOOOOMMMMM....

so take mine and dravens advice ... if its auto... super it...

if its 5 speed then turbo... cause you can control your shifts......

well if i decide to do a turbo it will prolly be a small one. t3<---??
remember not to running a HUGE turbo. there fore no lag
SC only gives bout 50HP.
