Time to sell the SI

Ok,

I'm thinking of moving up to a Volvo in October. SO my Si 2001 is up for sale or lease takeover. (both are cheap btw... put $5k down on lease, with trade so no tax on lease payments.... but also got a killer deal)

I'm not sure what I'll be asking just yet, but it has 19k on it. It's done the Toronto to Ottawa trip many many times so it truly is a highway car.
Solo short shifter adapter, carbon dash panels, cd and MD player, trunk inlay protectors, extended warranty, roadside extra crap too.

I've found a 260hp 1999 S70 that I want so the civic is on it's way out.

I'll drop some $ on anyone who helps me sell it when the time comes.

Lomcevak.

It's Silver, 5 speed. Has a wing (factory) and fog lights. Also has night proper tint on all side and back windows (the type that isn't hard to see out of at night but still looks dark i nthe day.... paid extra for that)
Checking the value right now. I'll have that at end of day.

SupYO - I only mention that as I traded in a CR-V worth about 15k at the time so that meant there would be no taxes on my lease payments. (CRV was purchased hence the tax forwarded to this vehicle somehow) I think I'm paying $330 a month or something high like that though to give room to get out of it early if I needed to. (like now) It also underestimates the residual to give more trade value down the line.

Of course, the remaining value of a car on lease this price is usually $11000. Assuming it's 1 year old it still has 2-4 years left in lease payment. If payment is $330 it's prob a 4 year lease (on dealer's 8.9%), which means there's $11000 + $330x36 = $22800!!

Who the hell would pay $22800 for 1 yr old car that's $27000 new tax in everything?!

Unless the lease is setup with a smaller end value or it's paid through more it's gonna be hard to find someone to take over. The only way to sell is for the seller to pay off the lease and then sell the car for market price, bitting maybe $3000~$5000. That's the way it works, unfortunately.

Lomcevak, just live with your car until the lease is over.

Msoft,

You're right, who the hell would pay 22,800 for the car. I didn't even pay that new.
The lease buyout as of this morning is about 5k less than what you figured btw. I found out from the dealer I can walk away from it after one year the way it's structured and he said he can get me some $$ back too so problem solved.

I might end up driving two cars for a few months though...hehehe.
