PDI checks....

i just picked up my LX coupe today from Richmond Honda...

the dealership messed up my order and likely just pushed the car out without completing the PDI checks when i threatened to cancel and buy the car elsewhere....

how important is the PDI anyways? other than fluid levels and stuff, what else do the actually check? anything really importand done in the PDI?

nothing really important... they pretty much check the fluid levels, make sure the plate brackets are on the vehicles, make sure the equipment thats supposed to be on the vehicle is on, blah blah blah... most of the time they barely even glance at the vehicle though... don't worry about it...

thnx...i hope it's nothing too important...

btw also they waxed it but did a poor job...
there is wax drippings on it and i can see those extremely small cirular scratches on the car...is that normal? do all cars get those scractches that are only visible under really bright light?

i hate it when peeps wax cars with those electric pads...i usually wax it by hand to make sure less dirt is grinding away at the paint..

actual scratches..? or wax residue..? or swirl marks in the paint..?

scratches -> not normal

wax residue -> pretty normal depending on what wax and how it was applied

swirl marks -> normal after a bunch of washes and a couple months, not normal on a brand new car

in any case sounds like they really rushed the car...

yeah they really rushed the damn car...

it came into the dealership on tuesday but said earliest date for pickup would be wednessday but we decided thursday and they still didn't get everything done properly....

the tires weren't even sprayed with that shiny stuff...

also they claimed that the swirl marks are visible cause it's a dark car(eternal blue)...

I think they did a PDI and then shipped it to the car dealer and when the cleaned it, might have caused some of those scratches.
