REGARDING Radar Detectors
Before it got locked... eesh..
A lot of manufacturers make undetectable radar detectors (ie - from Bel, and the NEW Valentines One). I'm sure this technology is trickling down into more brands now.
I read in the previous thread that the fine is quite heavy, and points could be deducted. Anybody know what the consiquences are?

a big fine, possible points, and confiscation of radar equipment on site...
sorry dude, but you might have better results by posting this either in one of the major forums or in one of the US forums where radar detectors aren't illegal. don't think many people from here would have too much in the way of info on 'em...

Like I mentioned in the old thread, you're not even allowed to carry one in the car in a sealed package locked in the trunk.
You can't have one in the car regardless.
Well...except if you're from the States or a Province that allows their use, they usually won't confiscate them and will give a warning only the first time. But if you're caught a second time, they write you up and confiscate the equipment.
They do however, check that your originating State/Province do actually allow them, if not..you're in trouble.
Ever go near the border? They have HUGE signs posted stating the use of the equipment is strictly prohibited.

Oh BTW, it's very common to hear about these undetectible radar detectors.....
They don't stay undetectible for a long time...The radar detector dectectors are "usually" upgraded on an annual basis.

Oh one final post, back in the early - mid 90's, cars were confiscated for having radar dectectors.
I have not heard of this being done in the last while except for tickets ranging up $1000.
They're illegal PERIOD.
--- The best detector is your eyes, see them before they see you.
