Back on topic: The truth and lying both have its’ goods and bads… Though lying can be deemed far worse in hurting ones feelings, than telling the truth, it can also be nice. It depends on the situation, the lie/truth, the association you have with the person, and most importantly the possible result of that lie/truth.

Of course, that's the ideal way. Most important, is what would be more advantageous for yourself: will telling the truth or lie put you in a better situation. Afterall, aren't we all a little selfish?

Like I said... depends on the situation... just say: your mom comes out with a brand new dress... not your style... you think it's not all that nice... she's all happy and says "what do you think? is it nice or what?" What do you say?
What do you say when your sweet grandma buys you a pokka dot sweater and asks you if you like it… and if you’ll wear it?
personally I don't like pokka dot anything... LOL...

aha... I know, but you would prolly use a different choice of words... possibly hint that it doesn't look good... you wouldn't tell the outright truth and say it's nasty or ugly right?
