Rep Power: 0 5w30 should be fine for our cars. There's a company in the US the sells it called Royal Purple or something. Do a search in parts and products and you should be able to find it. Around here in Canada I haven't really seen it yet. You might need to go to a performance store to but it.

Rep Power: 0 I was going to put synthetic in my car ( I have 30k clicks on it ), but I spoke with Honda and they said that there is no need because their oil that they put in our cars is semi-synthetic or whatever they called in. I don't know how much I should beleive them. I still want to go synthetic, more performance, right?
Is it still possible to put synthetic in my car after 30k clicks? or do you have to put it in from the begining?

Rep Power: 0 I heard it was better to wait at least 15K before you switch to synthetic, so you should be fine. I'm putting Mobil 1 5w30 for my next oil change. Once you go synthetic though, I don't think it's recommended to go back to regular oil.

Rep Power: 0 Surreal is correct. teh 5W20 oil Honda put in our engine is already half Synthetic and if u switch to full Synthetic you have to use it for the rest of the engine life and can't go back to original oil change.
i change my oil every 8000km in the dealer and if i ever go with full synthetic i will change it every 12000-15000kms

hmmm..the guys at Miss. Honda told me it was just regular oil..
no synth's at all in it..
and they recommended i just stay with "non-synth" for the life of the car..
i know who use to make their oil and it WAS NOT synthetic at all..
but it was hydro-treated and is the cleanest oil you can get..
whether they still make it or not i'm unsure, but i know they still make the same oil..
i'll ask around tomorrow and see if Honda oil is still PC oil..

Rep Power: 0 I'm on lifetime oil at Action Honda. $250 and every 8k or 4 months I go in for an oil-change. Don't care what oil as long as they change it regularly.
I think they offer that plan to any Honda.

Rep Power: 0 Honda uses a semi-synth by Petro-Canada (at least dealerships in Canada do).
I'm using 5W30 Mobil-1 perfectly fine for the last six months, in fact the car has been running smoother and smoothes out faster after a cold start. There are many people on this board that use 5W30 synthetic with no problems.
As for 5W20, a popular choice is Amsoil. You'll have to locate a supplier though.

Red Line Race Synthetic comes in 5W20 but I heard they are pretty expensive.
