Test Drove a 2002 Camaro
Well. my g/f is buying a Trailblazer (will post pics later) and I had some time to spare on the car lot so I asked to test drive the new (and last) 2002 Camaro ....... it was an auto as it was the only one on the lot - 35th anniversary edition ........ man talk about power, even in auto - mind you the $40,000 price tag was a bit of a disaapointent, but you get what you pay for ....... she was actually looking to buy one of those as well....... but only if its manual transmission.......it was hard climbing back into the Civic after playing in that car

well i got the chance to drive it and man what a difference..........leather interior, typical chevy interior but the ***** the car had when you touch the gas ......man, throws you back in your seat .......i pulled up to a done up Golf on my test drive and he looked over and laughed - so i put it in N and reved the engine - so he smiled and nodded - just floored it off the green light and the tires spun for like 5 seconds - he got ahead but then I just flew by him about 10 yards later - stopped at the next light with him and he said he didn't relaize it was a SS (not sure how that would have made a difference )
bwahahah... dats funny...... u raced ??? wabahah... thats kool... i drove mah co-wokers camaro..... and i know wut u mean..... u tap on the gas and it will push u back to ur seat.....

the new 1.8T has 180, with one or two mods easily over 200 and the new vr6 has 200 stock with less weight. but if it were one of the old golf's then probably...
hey I'm not arguing with you, I used to have an ol' v8 trans am... I love those cars...

Domestics all have huge engines, but think about the bad handling and gas mileage!! Chevy had to make a 2.4L engine to rate the Cavelier at 150hp! And I think the normal version of that's 2.2 at 115hp, pathetic.
Redneck friend of mine rebuilt a 79 (I think) Firebird, that thing had raw power, burning rubber on third gear... Weighs tons too, had to push it one time... But it was $80 a tank for him, and wouldn't last 300km, and afterall, how often do you wanna drag race anyway?

if you buy a camaro, your not buying it for the fuel economy , your buying it for the V8 under the hood.......... I have the honda for fuel economy ..........
you're complaining about the bad handling on a chevy, yet you're spending thousands to upgrade the suspension on your civic..? right... and in order to get a civic at the same horsepower levels as a camaro you don't think the gas mileage is gonna suffer in the least..? ok, thanks for coming out...

Haha, not trying to start anything. But I've test driven the cav when I bought my civic... Even stock on civic is much better handling than the cav. HP feels much better on the civic too. On the cav it felt like the engine was trying very hard to pull the car, while on the civ it felt quite natural.
Just my opinion. I upgraded the suspension becoz it's better. Stock was ok, but aren't we always looking for *better* stuff?

nah, just a friendly debate to liven up the morning...
are you comparing an si coupe to a base cav or a z24..? just curious... cause a stock z24 will own a stock si any day...

Well, the engine power is definitely there on the z24, but I'd much rather have the Civ Si and do the works on it. Coz IMO the cav looks ugly, esp on the inside. Haha...
