Stolen Civics
Just wanted to give you guys with stereo sytems in your ride a heads up, I'm a claims adjuster and we have just been notified that there is closed to a 150% increase in the GTA in "performance cars" with sytems in them getting broken into - there is also an increase in pawn shops and places like cash converters getting this equipment ...........I alone have had close to 10-20 claims this month in the KW area with sytems getting ripped off....... all of these cars had alarms.........a couple were really nice cars, happened overnight.....Just a heads up

yeah, civics have always been a target. cb gave me some good advice that i think everyone should hear. when you pull into the lot, dont blast your music or rev your car. you're just attracting attention. people will target your if they know you've a system/other mods before you even park!

guys, the best thing you can do is make sure that, if you have more tha $1500 invested in stereo and ICE equipment in your car to let your insurance company know, because there is a limit on your policy unless you let your company know.......I had a claim whith a guy who had close to $5000 in equipment in his car but it was stolen and we could only pay him $1500 as per the policy limit ........
I've had my car broken into already. Idiot smashed my window and went through everything. Luckly, I always leave my trunk locked. I know it's a hassle to manual get up and open the trunk all the time. But it's worth it. My deck is detachable which I always take with me. So they ended up taking my sunglasses and parking change. Stupid Bums!
Word of advice: always lock your trunk and seats. ICE theft is pretty common now.

sometimes this world is unfair... why cant every respect everyone's possesion...
for me i have a car alarm the club for my wheel audio theft deterent. and no subs(hehe or amps)
but i do have things in my trunk, so i'll be right back and lock my trunk and seats like psyfer suggested
if i add my system into my insurance policy, does it increase by a lot?

theres an endorsement you add to your policy to increase stereo equipment........ its like $20 per $1000 - which equals out to $100 for $5000 in stereo equipment ..... BUT it may also depend on where you live, every company is different...

ya, but like I said, every company is different.......you should call your broker for a quote, don't let them know you have this equipment cause then your broker may make you do it, just inquire because you MAY get some more equipment.......and the $20 per $1000 is my company not every company, I don't want you guys comin back yelling cause your comapny charges more.....
yah this is some scary stuff man... lock your doors, seats, trunk, gas lid, anything...
And yes, i agree with CB... never ride around your neighborhood with the system blasting try to go home on the down low....
Damn, and I don't even remove the face off my head unit when I park.... I'm gonna do that from now on...
