OT: 407 cheaters betware :)
Got this off thestar.com...
The top speeder of the day, and one of the fastest ever caught on Highway 407, was a 23-year-old Markham man who was clocked doing 238 km/h in a heavily customized yellow Infiniti moments after entering the highway at Brock Rd in the late morning.
"Not only was he charged with speeding, he was also charged with operating an unsafe vehicle because his car had been lowered and the wheels were rubbing on the fenders," Woolley said. "That's a recipe for disaster, especially at high speeds." Police impounded the vehicle.
I never knew they could charge you with that........that sucks....
Also something about some guys hooking up weird thing to their rear plate to flip it up as they pass the cameras I remember seeing a mod'd Civic hatch that could drop it's rear plate, and flash 8 friggen fogs at you
(Saw it in a pic, not in person)

I saw this thing in the back of one of my car mags that will flip your plate up into your bumper so it cant be seen and then if you need to with the press of a button it will come back down, in case the police are around. I just went out and bought the tinted plastic covers that are susposed to help that problem.
lol i thought u were talking about avoiding the paymet
not speeding haa
that dude deserves it
i ve experienced that before

The law states your headlights have to be a certain distance from the ground. Anything below it is a chargable offence. I can't remember what the distance is exactly.
Yes, and if an officer notices that there is like no wheel well gap, you will be stopped and he will check if your tires rub or are too close to the fenders, this is extremely dangerous and too is a chargable offence.
Plus anything that obscures, hides or used on intent to shield you plate from view is a chargable offence. I got stuck with a non-visible plate offence a while back. I only use clear (uncoloured) plate covers now. $90 to $105 ticket.

I got busted a few weeks back for my blue license plate lights , dumba$$ cops don't have anything better to do... $90 ticket $20 "victim surcharge" dumest thing I ever heard of. Anyways I'm going to try and fight it, worst case scenario, I pay the fine.
hahaha my bro just bought an '88 Mazda 626 from some dude at work for $200.. this guy had it rigged for the 407. the light that lights up the license plate is loose, and there's a rope running from the light thru the back seats right to the driver, so you can pull the light up if cops are around, and release it to cover the plates when u go on the 407.
now you guys got me worried about my blue plate covers... and I got them on both ends..

$110 for a friggen light bulb?!

Oh man oh man..... I have smoked covers front and back (though some fugger that can't drive backed into my front one and it's cracked! ), plus rear bulbs are baby blue.....
I never had problems so far, but then again, I'm never up in Markham/Scarborough late late late at night....
Awww nuts. Recently though WITH the smoked cover in the back and baby blue lights, I don't get the same effect. The cover just reflects the light off. No covers and baby blue bulbs look sooooooo sweet

Has anyone had any problems with non-stock licence plate bulbs? My baby blue Polargs are BURNING out the recepticles!
They seem to get hotter than stock bulbs. I've got scorch marks on the white plastics.... When I got in crap for my smoked covers, it was at Yonge/Eglinton. So just to let you know, it's not just a Scarborough, Markham thing.
Over the serveral years that I had them on my old car, I had comments/warnings from cops in Scarborough, North York, Thornhill and Etobicoke. So it's an all around thing plus I guess having a super low mod'd out car doesn't help either.

ohh well...

ohh well... Yeah, they can use those plate covers against you in two ways:
1. As a reason to pull you over
2. As additional tickets to **** you off even more over the speeding ticket/other tickets he's already issuing ya.
