Questions about insurance

Hey, as you can see im a noob here so excuse my noobness but, outta curiosity, how do you guys deal with the insurance companies concerning your tuned rides? you know how they usually ask if you have more than $1500 worth of upgrades on,..do you say yes? (1500 is a joke amount if you look at most of the car nuts on these forums, and i mean it in a good way)
do you declare your car to be a lesser amount than what it actually costs? if God forbid you get a writeoff u end up screwed, right? and also if you can mention how much you pay for insurance and what company you use.

also,...any ticks and tips you might have on how to "deal" with those crooks will be very welcome, i'm sure. thx

i'll start, i pay $225 for a 97 lx and my company is belair.

Re: Questions about insurance

I have Farmers. I pay like $180 per month, but that is for full coverage for my car, and my wifes SUV, plus renters insurance for the apartment.

It's up to you what you say. If you make your car worth less you might get a lower rate, but you will end up screwed if anything happens to it.

I always tell them it's worth more than it is, because to me, my stuff is worth more than the dollar you put on it. I'm not sure how much more that makes my premium, but I know I'm covered.

Re: Questions about insurance

If you get a write off, they'll pay for your modifications at least they did for me, or they'll let you take them off the car. If you want good insurance rate pm me.

Re: Questions about insurance

it'd be nice to get some more feedback on this. lotta money gets absolutely wasted on this crap. how does it make any sense to pay in 1 year again whatever you spent on buying your whole car in the first place...i think they have some of the highest rates here in Ontario...
