My 2001 pops out of 2nd and 3rd all the time.. arghh.

Anyone else experience these problems? I have a 2001 Coupe /w 5spd transmission and it pops out of 2nd and 3rd quite a bit..

I know a couple of years ago when we first got our 7th gens, a couple of the guys had problems with the tranny.. I had my tranny re-built by Honda in 2002 or 2003 because of a noise that the car was making at about 2500RPM.. Honda said it was becuase of the tranny.. Well now it started popping out of 2nd and 3rd quite a bit.. Not sure if its a clutch problem or the tranny.. The clutch seems really loose after me having the ride now for over 3 years.... I'm out of my warranty period, but the car is still leased so maybe I can get something out of Honda..

If anyone has had similar experiences or have any knowledge on this, please let me know.. thanks

Syncros have something to do with each gear .... Pharoh knows about this one. When you shift gears, (into 2nd and 4rth) they don't go in all the way, and thats why they pop out. Just go to Honda, tell them that your gears are poping out, they'll replace them under warranty

Why would syncros die so prematurely? I mean... What's the probability that Honda reliability on their tranny's are that bad, and that so many people are HERE to complain about it? (We've already heard, and had the discussion, that the 7th gen trannies are not as rock solid as the 6th gens.... Wait until you hear the WRX guys chirp in here, they describe their trannies as glass.)

Could it be the majority of the guys here are pushing it too hard, doing the Fast & Furious double clutching???

(The syncros are there to "handle" the sync'ing between two spinning pieces.... I read that on HowThingsWork.com Before the syncros, people had to double clutch...)

My question is, what is in place of syncros in an automatic? The torque converter? I've done some stupid downshifts into 2nd gear in the autotragic....

Honda Reliability is a farce. They once were good cars. Im my experience they're no better than a typical american car. Just look at the transmission and suspension problems of the 01 civics like mine. It's basically an embarassment to even let someone else ride in my car. The tranny makes whining noises, grinds, and pops out of gear, the suspension has been shot for a long time. The car doesn't handle particularly well either with 14 in wheels, the worst tires I've ever seen (firestones) and no rear sway bar! So I look to the aftermarket to improve it's performance and I do up my car like in the Civic Nation commercials, and get denied warranty coverage!!
Fvck you Honda.
My next car will be something else.
