loud exhaust........i bet he didnt even know where the noise came from. is he 100% sure that the noise came from the exhaust?.....i highly doubt that.
abstruct plate.......... whatever that means, just take a picture of your license's plate and show it to the crown and he'll/she'll most likely just drop that ticket. or just bring the picture to the justice of the peace and he'll/she'll will drop it before it even reaches the court.

Well I have a ticket, 25km/h over, 3 points, and my insurance didn't change (it was a 40km/h over ticket, but I went to court).
... now I have a court date in january for another 40km/h over ticket..
I'm 20 years old.... and screwed!

Depending on how well the officer took notes, you may be able to persuade the judge that it was unsafe for you to stop as
a) the wet road would have slid your car into the middle of the road
or b) stopping any shorter in an abrupt manner might have caused the close trailing car to hit you.
Though is the yellow light any demerit points for you? I know my yellow light ticket was just a fine (135$) but that was back a few years.

Sorry to hear about your car, BUT I've gotten around 8 tickets this year...3 of them speeding, yes my insurance got cancelled and now I'm looking into high-risk insurance brokers...it sucks, becuase I feel I got stereo-typed and profiled for being an asian in a modified civic...I've been driving almost longer than some of you being alive, and i've never gotten any tickets till I owned this car. Speeding, i'm guilty of, (2 of them were only 15 over) but these other bullshit–tickets...argghhh...i've had my hood popped open twice, to see what i've got, and the cop didnt know ****!!!!!!!!! he had no idea what he was talking about.
anyways Inusrance wont take people with over 3 minor tickets....so one shouldn't be a problem, although you are only 20. good luck. see you on the bus, cause i may not be able to drive either.
