I use STP on the full tank just before an oil change. I heared it's best to use it just before you change your oil because some may leak past your piston rings and contamate your oil. Not sure how true that is but better safe than sorry. As for making a difference, on my 2001 civic I didn't notice anything different, on my old 90 accord I got an extra 70km/tank!!

the reason i am asking is that my car is 2001 and has 56000km on it, i never put in a single bottle of the cleaner in the gas tank. lately, i feel the car is losing its fuel mileage so i am debating if i should use the injector cleaner or not.

i guess i just hop a bottle of Wynn's Fuel Injector Cleaner and see how it goes.

anyone else?

Greased lightning made a big difference with mine, and you only use once a year. Chevron with techron doesn't work at all. I poured that stuff all the time and nothing.

Yea...I use the STP fuel injection cleaner in the white bottle. Works great. Can't beat it for $3 dollars.

Royal Purple + some good Lube for your next oil change would make a good difference!

My last tank was 625km on 39L of regular sunoco gas. My car is a 2001 sedan, manual, 75,000km. I mostly do highway with minimal traffic. I use the AC on lowest setting on the highway. I just started using Mobil 1 synthetic on my last oil change. The car was bought used early this year at 72000km. My girlfriend's 2001 Si gets about the same. It's manual as well, 44,000km. Get that thing checked because $0.85/liter is not helping your situation.

One more thing, check the number km in relation to the number of liters that reads on the gas pump. Our fuel guages are crap. One time my gas light came on for 2 days, then went off for a day, then came back on. I still had 15 liters left in my tank when I finally fueled up the next day.
