there's a local bike forum that you may want to visit ... they have regular cruise/meeting in the summer and the members there are knowledgeable ... gtamotorcycle.com

insurance depends on the year of the bike and the cc ... get a quote from your insurance company ...

i had a yamaha rz350 when i was 17.... insurance cost me about 90bucks a month back then.

but then again, the rz350 was a 1989 two stroke bike.... old, but yet.. quick and LIGHT.

im prolly going to wait till im about 24 or 25 before i get another bike... income depending.....

i talked to this guy last year.. who has the honda 600rr... i had to walk up to him b/c i wanted that bike so badly when it first came out.. haha.
but ya.. he said the insurance cost him about 2000 a year.. that's CHEAP, imo.... and he wasnt even 25 yet.

g'luck

that's a lot guys. i thought bike insurance whould be expensive. i am paying $4000/yr for my civic. clean record. i have no idea what it's so expensive. i am looking forward to 2005 summer. that's the time i have enough saving for a NEW TOY. i alway have a feeling that cruiser looks cool and sport bike is speed. therefore, i will most likely get a cruiser, i like sport bike but i have a feeling i will kill myself. something like honda vtx 1300. i am asian, 5'8 can't ride on a big bike. this should be the right choice.

im azn... 5'9.. slim built... only difference b/t a cruiser and a sports bike is the insurance rate.... riding a sports bike wont mean that you'll kill yourself.. haha

regardless what type of motorcycle you hvae... if you want to go fast, YOU'LL GO FAST... haha. trust me on that...

same with a vehicle.. it all depends on how you drive it and if you take the responsibility on how to drive the vehicle you are operating, car or motorcycle

and if you're talking about coolness.. i still think a sports bike loooks cool. LOL

and a person like your size CAN ride a big bike...
it'll just take time for you to get used to it
the more CC you have on the engine ( equals bigger engine) the heavier the bike will be.

2000/year for bike actually equals to like 4000/year for car because you can only ride on them for like half a year in Canada
