Car audio Q
Not wanting to spend too much, but recently been thinking of upg'ding some of the audio in my car.
I've already have a Kenwood 7019 MP3 deck, which I initially bought just for the MP3 feature, but wondering if up-ing the speakers will make any difference, or if I'd need to get an amp to feel the difference. Not needing a sub, really, but wanna improve the sound quality from the cheesy stock speakers. Been looking at some Futureshop $100 Pioneers or Sonys, but not really into audio to know what's good or not.
Looking to spend as little as possible ($100~300). Any recommendations would be welcome!
Thx.

get some pioneer speakers and a pioneer amp to power them, that would prolly be the best for a budget, of course if u can spend more, get something a little better quality.. amped speakers will sound better than powered from the deck..
I don't have much experience w/ sony car audio, but pioneer is really good deal, decent quality on a budget..
only problem is 100-300 will only buy u 4 speakers (if you're goin pioneer), the amp will prolly run u $150-200 i'd assume, havent checked prices recently..

Haha, just thought to put here so the local peeps can give me some recommendations
would be great if someone can give me a sample setup, i.e., what to use for 6-1/2 and what to use for 6x9, then perhaps a cheap amp that'd power these two better than the deck, etc
thx again

Is your deck at least 4V out? If so, just changing the stock speakers to some decent aftermarket ones and leaving them running off the deck may still give you half decent sound (definitely better than stock).
