License plate cover violation in Ontario?
I've heard from numerous sources that tinted license plate covers are no longer permitted.
Rumor has it that anyone with these covers can be slapped with fines of up to $108.
Validation anyone?

Correct, I been hit and fined for...fought and lost. Oh yeah warned many many times before that too, unfortunately my bolts were rusted on the old 'civ and couldn't get them off.
Their a little more leanient in non-winter months. They'll nail you always in the winter, cause they snow makes the plates' visibility even worse.

They've been tight ever since the 407 opened up, they claim it affects the photo system they use to track the cars using it and I've been hassled since then. That's why I use clear now.
Techno: u better get rid of the blue ones u have. I tried to get blue ones from Formula Honda (free) back in March but my friend there wouldn't let me...too much hassle for usin' them.
By the way, most of the time that I got stopped were by Metro cops even though the 407 is way up in York Region territory.

Real sanitary there Techno...
Yes I said Sanitary.
I can't even start to imagine the kinds of people he's probably had in that back seat!
'Course I can't top the blowfish in a cop car. You win!

I hope you kept your receipt.
A lot of stuff aren't illegal to sell, just illegal to use....
like NOS, black headlight covers, indiglo washer nozzles, blue signal lights and headlights....
More trouble than they're worth.

I did keep the receipts but i bought them at pacific mall and I'm pretty sure there's no refunds, it only cost me $14 bucks for the two of them, so it isn't that bad, is it still ok to put one on in the front? Some cars don't even have plates in the front so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

I drove my mom's minivan around with really dark smoked plate covers for 5 years and never got pulled over. I've had my tinted plate covers on my civic since may and still no tickets. I kinda figured they were illegal when I bought them, (like most of the things we do to our cars) but London is just crawling with modified cars with led washers and blue headlights and stuff. I think cops are more attracted to the really crappy modified cars like 1980s accords and preludes. If a cop wanted to, he could prolly give me a ticket for my windshield banner, my tint, my plate covers, my plazma parking lights, and my xtreme white headlights. I've never even been pulled over, some kind of miracle considering the way I drive. I guess I'll just have to be really polite.
Minivan...there u go.
Like I implied...my old civ' was decked out Cop attractant. They usually stop ya if they think you're doing something suspicious.
Last warning I had in that car, the cop was kewl but he said he stopped me because he couldn't see the plates at all, I had really dark tint....looked like I had something to hide.
'course it also doesn't help to be a marked car on the late night racing scene. But that's in the past.
