as for hardcore track and auto X ppl, get RA1 or A032R if u can afford it, they really worth it cuz i was in my friends' car with those tires and they kick *** in Shannonville
the Falken are relatively heavier tires than Kumho from my research and understanding
good luck with the selections

the flaken's are heavier then the kumho 712's?? .... OH CRAP.....
how much do the ra1 or a032r go for???
if you're ever going to go to the track.. stay away from the kumho 712... it'll take about 25% of your tread... depending on how hard you drive it
i do not recommend 712 for track....they over heat too much....and scream like a biatch in the turns.....i think I did a lot better on my FM901s than guys on their 712s...
205 50 15 A032R is $170/tire
falken azenis is a good tire also....

170 a tire? that's why out of my current budget.
i actually did pretty good on my 712 at the track.. just that it took quite a bit of tread life off of it.
keep up with a few decent cars.. and stay ahead of them as well.
might i add.. my car was the slowest amongs the cars that was there.
but it all comes down to the driver as well....
i'll prolly go with the flaken azenis... anybody know how much they weigh off the top of their heads?
i know the kumho's 712 weigh at about 21.5lbs each... or am i thinking of a different tire.. nonetheless.. that's heavy;.

another question:
if i go with 205/50/15 tires on 15in rims....
will that mean that i wouldnt be able to use my rpm to the fullest extent....
in other words... b/c of the speed difference.....
anybody know whta i mean?

andy: the higher number of tread wear, the longer the tire will last
and you can still redline even you have 15s (dont know if i answer your question)
i am not a big fans of Falken, if i go all out then either Yoko or Toyo or Bridgestone for me. but if i have a tight budget i would go with Kumho and Wanli
as for Auto X you will be fine with 712 but in circuit track i highly recommended sticky R compound tire if u can afford it
but overall 712 is a great tire in my book, i also try the Kumho 711 and they are not bad considering they are H rated tires but i will definitely go with 712 or MX in the long run

i guess the azenis wont last as long as the 712.............
now i have to make a decision... azenis or 712's again
*********************
n/m.. i just checked the tire calculator
my stock tires were 185/65/15 i believe....
if i were to run on 205/50/15... there would be about 6% difference on the speedometer.... 6% too fast.
i guess by running on the 205/50/15.. it'll add more km's to my speedometer... which is what i really dont want.......
when my speedometer say's that im going 53km/r... im actually going about 50km/h... and by these calculations... i am not able to use my shifting to it's full advantage........
anybody know what im talking about yet? haha
well, correct me if im wrong
thanks
correct me if im wrong here

I just got my RA1s. But a friend of mine, I think he went through about 13-16 lapping days. It depends on your driving and other conditions.

what do you mean when you say that your friend went through 13 - 16 lapping days.....? are you referring to the ra1 tires?

this is my logic/thinking....
yes if u go from 185/65R15 to 205/50R15 your speed is off and faster by 6% but the distance u are travelling is the same regardless so i dont think the mileage will go up (increase) faster than the 185/65R15 tires, get what i am trying to say?
cole notes: i think the speed of the car is off (reading on the speedo) but the actual mileage u travel will be the same
