And here's a reason they haven't taken this series 4 straight. EAGLE!
Ottawa has a system and it's working fine.

lol, then should i rephrase what i said??
they have no system to beat cujo back then.
or the eagle in gm 2 and 3.
the system is SUPPOSE to beat the goalie's when it all boils down to it.. that's who you have to SCORE on.
i said "leafs" b/c sports is a team effort... whether one player stands out in a game or not.
you're not gonna point out a player that makes a blocking save or a player poke checking to prevent a goal.
and even if j.martin has a system, it's not strong enough to win.
whether it comes down to a bad penatly in a gm 7 or not............. then you should ask yourself, ...... if they have a system, why couldnt they win it in six games? or five games? why take it to seven and lose and put a blame on a bad penalty? because of cujo or the eagle? HA!
if they were good enough, they'll win at whatever cause....
'hence... last year's stanley cup champs, the new jersey devils, was brodeur the main reason that the devils won? ... partially..... but it was also Burn's boring *** defensive SYSTEM that won it.
bottom line, in the past five years..... j.martin's system isnt strong enough to beat the leafs.

Ottawa has outplayed, outshot, outchanced Toronto in all 4 games so far. The deciding factor is goaltending. Belfour was the deciding factor in both of Toronto's wins. Of course, Toronto had to score, but they had very few chances to score, but they managed to get goals when they had chances. What it comes down to, is Belfour is holding the leafs in this series. If it weren't for him, it would be over.
The leafs winning was not a team effort. It was Belfour who stole the show. Also, goal scoring is not an issue anymore. Ottawa has 8 goals. Toronto has 7. Now which team is having trouble scoring? Toronto, because they don't get any shots or chances.
System or no system, the difference is the players. Martin's system works well, which is why Ottawa was the highest scoring team in the league. It's working on Toronto, outscoring them. The series is so close it comes down to stupid penalties and special teams.

yes, belfour is one of the main reason.
but it's still a team sport. you need players to score.... to block shot, to make defensive plays.. even if it's just blocking one shot.
thta one shot block could of made a big difference.
yes, ottawa was the highest scoring team in teh league......... but that doesnt mean a damn thing in the playoffs. every player's mentality is different now.......
and like you said.. toronto is capitalizing on their chances....
but in the past five years... j.martin's system isnt working on toronto..... even if it comes down to the goalies....... cujo/eagle, his system is not working.
when it doesnt work.. find another system for players to score in the opposing zone. otherwise... belfour will be in the right spot saving shots.

It will never matter. If Ottawa wins this then Toronto fans will blame it on injuries or something. I don't recall a past Ottawa vs. Toronto series when Ottawa was fully healthy....but they never said **** about it.

... 67 years without the cup.......... is it 67 years? i dunno.. but it's a big number
when something goes wrong.. gatta blame it on something.. and usually the media blows it out of proportion
and if you say ottawa was never fully healthy... that can go the same way as the leafs.

They haven't won the cup since before Man walked on the moon....just wanted to put it in perspective...haha.
AznSaint: The last time they played in the playoffs, the Leafs were totally healthy and Ottawa were missing Wade Redden, Mike Fisher and a few other bodies.

haha, aiights, i honestly dont remember.
but like i said anyways... it's gonna come down to detroit or colorado. lol
just so you know... Man has never walked on the moon. hahaha... have you not watched a documentary on it before? ... well, i never seen it either, my friend said he saw it on the discovery channel.
i actually had a dicussion, in one of my lecture classes... with the teacher saying how Man has never actually walked on the moon.. and im actually pretty convinced that Man has not walked on the moon either..
pretty much... that back then... decades ago, the russians said that it's impossible to have man land on the moon.. with all that radiation beyond the earths atmosphere..... that's why they never tried.
if you watch it, the points that they used are pretty damn convincing that man has never step foot on the moon.
I'm a Sens fan but personally I would like to see ANY Canadian team bring back home what is rightfully ours....the cup!
If ottawa and Toronto wouldn't have played each other 1st round in the playoffs I think both teams would meet up for eastern confrence finals because both teams have alot of talent...as for the TO vs OTT match up I think it all depends on penalty minutes and how the goalies perform.

so...will Sundin and Nieuwendyk play tonight? I'm guessing they both will but won't be 100% at all. Although I'm hearing that neither skated at all and weren't at workout.
interesting.

leafs only got in like 18shots... two in.
no sundin in the line.... and the Leafs still won.
belfour made only like 21 saves or so... nothing spectacular tonight.
so pretty much... no more excuses
still colorado or detroit all the way. lol
i'll just hope the leafs make it ottawa. lol

ummm..sure. Toronto played no better and Ottawa played badly is basically what happened.
Ottawa still had the better chances too. Oh well. I was expecting 6 or 7.

Toronto was no better than in any of the previous 4 games. Ottawa was due for one bad game, they already played 4 great ones
At least u guys got a chance to watch it. As I was stuck at York writting a exam from 7-9 and only got to see like the last 10:00 of the 3rd. Hey but its all good because the Leafs won!!!

I predict that game 6 will mark the return of Ottawa's game. They were due for a bad one, let's hope game 5 was it.
