Insurance Is Bull ****
InSurance CAME in Worst Day of My Life
okay i Got my Insurance today and wow this Sucks So bad i cant even Drive anymore i am 18 years old i got 3 tickets which equals 5 points i am an occasional driver with my parents we have an 03 Civic 2 door and a 95 Chrysler New Yorker the civic is basically my car. to sum up on what the letter told me is that i have to be a primary driver on the Civic i cant be an occasional driver on the civic only on the New Yorker and i do that i will be paying 1665 every 6 months plus the insurance on the Civic which i cant drive and that is 1269$ but to drive the Civic as a primary driver i would have to Pay 7000$ a year. i would be paying these prices till a Fu$$ing 25 years old WOW thats 6 years still.. that total Bullshit. if anyone has Info on Car Insurance please let me know i live Sudbury Ontario

man.. thats alright i just got booked for the failing to stop at a sign....
damn judge saw my ticket for driving an unsafe motor vehicle and booked me.. and said no deal. i lost 3 freaken points ... GRRRR>....now i pay 3200 a yr hehe..im 23 now. im a OLD grand pa now !!

Rep Power: 0 I'm 19 and have lost 3 points. One more ticket or point taken off, and the insurance company won't cover me.
Thank god my dad has a company car under a differnet insurance company and so he is first driver on my car (ownership under his name), and I am occassional driver (even though i'm the only driver).

Anyway, I'll find out if it actually gets cheaper when you turn 25. I turn 25 in the summer, so I'll see if there's a big change, but I don't think there will be.
aznSaint, no i gave it to a ticket fighter and he said the judge would not make a deal. like just pay the fine and no points but the judge would hear none of it. so here i am sitting looking at my insurance bill wondering why the hell it just jumped from 2000 bucks to 3200. lol... blah... its not that i didnt want to clear it up..its just the judge didnt let me 
phuviano, i think it does change when ur 25.. my bro just turned 25 last yr and we got some money back from the insurance. i think it doesnt change that much, you just jump to another bracket of the insurance age group... dang i cant wait to hit 25 hehe

as for tikets:
points stay on your record for two years and then they come off
the tickets itself stay on your record for three years then they come off your record.
accidents stay on your record for a minimum five years... depending on your insurance company... some may be seven i believe.
that's why if you get tickets.. with points. fight it.... delay it as long as you can. and some times, by the time your ticket is up for court appearance.. 1.5 yeras may of passed already.. so another .5 years for the points to come and 1.5 years till the ticket actually comes off.
tickets dont go on your record till you're convicted off it... that's only if you choose to fight it in court.... even if you know you're guilty.... fight it. it could prevent your insurance from knowing it when it comes to renewal. not always 100% ... but it's an option

Rep Power: 0 err, i think you get an insurance break at 25yrs old cause you move into a different class of driver...but you dont get your points erased. your points get erased after a certain period of time (i think like 5yrs) of perfect driving.

like boo said, they only way to take down the premium is if you can get secondary driver standing again....2 cars and 3 drivers you should be able to do it...but not 2 cars and 2 drivers

i'm 22 and have 6 points. 1 speeding ticket for 38km over(4points) and one BS ticket for improper signal(2points). I'm far from a aggressive driver but my points are high. I'm told by the MTO that after 2 years the tickets go away, the 38km over one was in May of 2002 so it should be gone this coming May. Only thing is my insurance is up for renewal April 29th. Since my last renewal i've only had that one signaling ticket...i'd be pissed if they gave me a hard time over a ****ing turn signal.
I hate insurance. I could buy a brand new car of equal value every 2.5 years with the rate i'm paying.

wtf?.. does my car have a magnet PULL ME OVER and the cop gave me a dirty look too.
but its all good i kept it at 50km/h.....

My first ticket ever, beside's parking tickets. I pay 2800 and change. I'm 24, and I have a clean driving record except that red light violation. Damn, that sucks. BTW, your not old. I'm older..lol.
