need help to make a decision!

okay i sold my eibach prokit...
now im thinking of getting new set of springs or coil over system...

here's some that im thinking of:
- tein S springs
- tein basic or SS coil over system
- neuspeed springs

i need to narrow down the decision of which ever is the best direction to go for in having a nice drop with no problem at all like knocking sounds...

should i go springs on stock struts or go for the full coil over...

pls help me out and through me a suggestion of set up i should do... perhaps u have a go set up right now with no prob, pls tell me what you've done...

I have a 02 lx-sport sedan...
oh and a rsx rear sway bar and getting neuspeed or DC upper strut bar for front and rear....

what is your main purpose?

for ride quality? ... better handling? ... for like autocross??

i just received my KW suspensions variant 2 yesterday. it's competitor is pretty much the tein ss damper coilovers. i picked the kw b/c it was stainless... and the spring rates weren't that much of a difference but the kw spring rates are stiffer. as it was more so meant for like autocross competition

i suggest u get full coilovers, cuz eventually u need new struts if u have lowering springs, i also got the v2 on wednesday, haha, true what AznSaint said, its cheaper than the Tein SS, spring rate is very close (about 50lbs higher than the SS for rear) plus its stainless steel

it's kewl, i was were you were a few months ago.

there's a whole lotta of information in the suspension forum if you have time to go through it all... just run a search what you want to know.

v2 is the full coils.. it's competitor is the tein super street damper coilvers. the major difference is that the v2 is stainless... whereas, tein has like 16 different ride settings i believe.

v2 will definitely give you good handling.. as i've heard. tegknosis... from ottawa has the v2 already. he paid a lot more then what me and macrossranma paid for it.

of course, the tein's will have better ride quality.. but by slightly only. because of the spring rates

and i've heard from a few other ppl... that have springs and konis, that if they were to do it all over again, they would go striaght with the full coilover system. but it all depends on your current money situation.

haha.. yeah.. full coilover system is the best.. i can never sit in a car thats just lowered with coilover sleeves or springs with no aftermarket shocks.. its just too bouncy for me!

haha.. we didnt really say much. but if you're convinced, it's s'all good

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...ht=suspensions

thats one of the threads that have info about the kw variant 2 coilovers. one of the threads that i read.... from first to last. which is half of the reasons that i read on there that had convinced me to get the kw v2.

just make sure what your preference is for the suspensions that you want

some ppl may not like it. one guy, from this site said he thought the ride quality on the kw v2 was still bumpy after he set the settings to its softest mode. but he wanted a suspension like bmw... as he said. so ya, it's all on your preference.

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...t=suspensions.

read the forth post in particular... even that guy said the front spring rates aint that much of a difference compared to the Tein super street damper

i still havent tried mine yet, as i still havent had time to install it yet. or decide if i should get a shop to install it.

me and macrossranma's main reason on getting this is b/c it's stainless steal. perfect for the canada's weather, imo. 'cause toronto throws tons and tons of salt on the roads each year. as if they had no where else to spend the tax payer's money on.

and to let it be known, the kw v2 is moreso meant for competition... like autocross. --- better handling... like around corners. but of course.. that's just one of the options for upgrades.... next comes the strut bars, rims, tires, etc...

if you were to compare spring rates.. the tein ss coils arent really that much of a different compared to the kw v2. but bottom line, the tein's will givee you a softer ride quality.

tein: 336 front --- 448 rear
kw v2: 350 front -- 500 rear

the biggest difference is the rear... and as you can see, the front is not that much off.

if you have any more questions, just post here and me or macrossranma , and anybody else from this site will try and answer your question.. especially if it's about teh kw v2.

the kw v3 has supposedly come out... but that's a even better/bad *** suspension set up. but that's for like pure competition supposedly. haha.... which most of us everyday drivers dont really need/want.

you can also check out www.kwsuspensions.com.

if you want, you can email them @ info@kwsuspensions.com for any questions you may have.

ask for Tom, those emails goes directly to him. he help me and macrossranma with our orders. just say Andy Chow from toronto referred you, who had purchased the kw v2 just recently.
even though it might not make a difference, but it might help him understand what you're trying to acheive with your suspension upgrades. and whta type of car you have.

make sure you tell them you have a sedan or a coupe.

oh ya.. if you have time to read the whole thread. from the first link up above

... http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...ht=suspensions

.. go to page seven, i think it's the forth post. that guy took his time...... a lot of time to explain about the suspension.
i found that really really helpful... even though i had to read it like three times.. and take it in slowly, *like studying at school.. haha* to understand what he meant and what the suspensions and products actually do, and till now, i still dont have it 100% all donw... but that's s'all good.. as im still in the learning process.

a lot of shiet to remember if you're really into this type of thing. -- CARS. haha...

I have Eibach springs, but never got around to the struts. Its very high on my to do list.

Dont think i want to spend the money now and get a whole coil over system, so is there a strut set i could get that would be compatable with what i already have?

Any feed back would be great.
Does Kw v2 sell just struts? Duh, maybe I should call them myself!

with no problems... that would be a full coilover system.

'cause with the koni's, you need to destroy part of the stock shocks that is needed.

for like Tein super street or the kw v2. it's a replacement
but they still need something from the stock parts.. but you dont have to destroy it. -- the upper bearing
if you dont want to use the stock parts.. you can always buy an aftermarket upgrade from tein or kw.
