I would like to find the listing of auto customizing shops in my area. I live in Hicksville, NY. Anyone know any good websites that would contain a list of shops that deal in body work, engine work, interiors, and audio. Or does anyone go to any shops around my area?

there isa place i believe it is called Phoenix Upholstery on Franklin Avenue right before hempstead turnpike
in franklin square that does reall good work on interior seats.
there is Valley Van on merrick road in valley stream they do good work little pricey though.... just about anything exterior
streat dreamz on hempstead turnpike in west hemstead does good work.... alot of performance parts and installation
and there is a place in lynbrook on sunrise hwy ultima performance its in the first link a weblink that does good work.....
alot of performance stuff

I can hook you up with prices, if you do any business with Ultima Performance. I am friends with the owner. For stereo work I would deal with Precision Installations in Valley Stream on Merrick road, or Ultra Sounds on Merrick road in Lynbrook. Ultra Sounds did my window tint. The guy they have does excellent work. He tints in most shops on the island and a few dealers. I can also get good prices from speedworld.com in baldwin but I wouldnt let them touch my car. I also have another hook up for stereos in Mineola. I guess you can say I have a few hook ups. Have you done anything to your car yet? I am located in lynbrook. There are a few local long island 7th gen peeops on this board....We usually meet up in the spring, summer and the fall....If there is a meet you will read about it in this forum...

i want to get an exhaust soon when spring comes, dont want to put it on in the winter....
i was there a couple of times, that BMW they have there is really nice, it is really hooked up......
Ultra sounds is where i got my windows tinted, they do real good work, and they guarentee it, which is nice....

There is no ford dealer near Precision....I will go there with you during the spring...no problem. They do awesome work at Ultima. If you go there alone and mention my name you wont get as good a deal as if I went in with you.....so i'll roll down there with you one day.

Hey Scott, what do you think it would run me to get my windows tinted about 20% reflective (not mirror) with your hook-up. All 6 on my sedan (4 windows, and the 2 small parts on the rear sides) and a one-piece for the back.

Also, I'm looking to get an alarm installed. I'll prolly buy the alarm online. But got any hook-ups with quality work to get it installed? I'd like that installed sometime soon. (as soon as I figure out what alarm to get). Thanx.

Dacurreyman....Dont buy online...My hookup in Mineola gives me really good prices on any audio and alarm stuff. I can get you a Viper alarm installed for a good price. You let me know what alarm you want, and ill find out the price. With tint, im not sure of a price. I paid $160 for my windows and they took the rear deck out....but I have a coupe...a sedan is usually more money.

Mindthegap....I know the place you are talking about now...I think it is called GEM or something like that. I wouldnt buy anything from them.

Hey Scott,

I was looking at the DEI site, since I don't really know which alarm to get. I saw one, the Clifford AvantGuarde 4. It seems ridiculously hardcore and with everything you could possibly want. I don't know what it retails for or how much your friend can get it for, but it's on eBay for a little under $400. Granted, that's more than I wanted to spend, I don't really know what I'm looking for. I just know the features I'd like to have.

In addition to the security features:
Remote Start w/ HVAC control
Remote Trunk Release
Remote Locks
Remote Windows

If you can offer advice, then I'm open to suggestions. Thanx.
