Exhaust Fabricator - Virginia??

Does anyone know of a solid, reputable exhaust fabricator that they have used that could weld up a custom 2.5" exhaust system for me in VA/DC/MD (preferably Northern Virginia)?? Any of you that have had good experiences with this in my area, please let me know.... Thanks!!

Re: Exhaust Fabricator - Virginia??

Altered Atmosphere in Gaithersburg does really good work, they did my 3" downpipe and entire 3" exhaust. No rattles at all and it makes great power, couldn't be happier. Only thing is it wasn't cheap at all.

Re: Exhaust Fabricator - Virginia??

How much did they run you for that?

I had some place down near VA Tech weld me up one, but they F'ed it up twice, and now that Im installing a race header I want to redo it with a competent company this time.

Re: Exhaust Fabricator - Virginia??

Mine was fabrication and materials for 3". Yours will only be 2.5, it may be a bit cheaper. I'd say 700 out the door would be a reasonable price for stainless.

Re: Exhaust Fabricator - Virginia??

Yeah, Im debating 3" now, since looking at all of Evans N/A k-series tunes....a lot of them are running 3" exhaust set-ups. Just more research first I suppose....never hurts.

Re: Exhaust Fabricator - Virginia??

You can also go to inlinepro. They make nice manifolds, alot of people with boosted k's use them. I'm sure their fabwork isn't cheap either. If you're doing an n/a setup, 2.5 should be fine, if you want boost, 3" all the way.

Re: Exhaust Fabricator - Virginia??

See, thats what I originally thought too Andy...but the more I have looked into it, having 3" exhaust with cams, and all the bolt-ons, and a KPro tune seem to be the way to go with the K now. Suprised me, but the more I researched, the more I'm seeing it.

Re: Exhaust Fabricator - Virginia??

It's restriction you have to consider. A turbo car will flow a lot more air than an n/a car. Unless you're going nuts, I think 2.5 will suit you. Your call.
