This has been attempted before under the guise of the "Annual M-A Meet". At first it worked, like 30 people showed up, but the last year they did it, only a handful came out of the big numbers who said they would be there... people were screwed with hotel rooms by people who didnt show but were holding spots in the rooms, etc....
Just a suggestion, if all you're doing is trying to organize a GTG... keep it to a same day in/out affair.
