I believe, in NJ, you will be assessed two points for an out of state moving violation. The points are generic, insomuchas the offense may have gotten you more points if the violation occurred in NJ.

The NJ Driver's manual states:
Two points will be added to driving records for offenses committed
in states that belong to Interstate Compacts to which New Jersey
belongs.

Here is a link to that part of the manual:
http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/driver_manual/Chapter_6.pdf

Good luck.

yeah, ive read that too...but i wasnt sure how that whole system worked, or if anyone actually bothered to share the violation info. i mean, it could just be there as a scare tactic so people dont think theyre untouchable out of state. if i got a ticket in MA, i wouldnt get any points....so i didnt know.

HAHAHA! yeah scott. i was paying attention to my speed though...but its so hard to keep it at a constant 80. HAHAHAHA or at 50 when the limit is 45...

i took another look at the ticket and he wrote it up as a 66 in a 50, so thats not too bad actually. he could have screwed me i think.

oh well....i dont mind the fine, i just dont want points.

Im from DE, and when I took my defensive driving class, they told us that DE doesnt transfer points to other states. Basically, its DE's business and NOT NJ's.

Good Luck at any rate, and where did you get stopped at in DE?

Yeah...The State Police in Southern DE have nothing better to do then issue tickets. Harrington is normally bad enough with just the town police. If you ever come through Camden, DE, SLOW DOWN. Thats about the worst place in the state...Never have a problem with tickets though; mom is a well known 911 manager and my Grandpa was the police chief in Camden
