Hey guys/gals:
I'm in NYC. Now, my brother got a $30 ticket for exhaust tip being to big. Is there such a law? My brother has about a 3 and half or 4 inch tip. How about too many decibals? Thanks!

yeah there is a law now about exhausts in NY i got pulled over too but had a badge so got off.... but its real. if its not a stock exhaust or its too loud you can get a ticket now.
damn, that sucks @$$!. I just saw a long news report on NY1 today, about how they are cracking down on street racing, lol. Anyway, can anyone find some specifics on these? Like, how loud an exhaust could be, or how big the tip can be? ****, if this applies to cars, this better fcukin apply to bikes too.

How do the cops deam it too loud? This sounds like something similar to butt dyno, just by ear. I heard in Cali they actually have decibal meters.
The cops in NYC will NEVER catch the ppl on bikes. The fastest cop cars you see in NYC is that POS Impala that drives slower than a stock Impala.

That law has been around for ages, I collected a lot of tickets on it!LOL Usually it can be beat, but costs more to fight than pay. Thats what they count on.Basicaly its the cops word against yours for loudness (like that word). Cops up my way use it as a FU tool,if you give them s#it orget away from them they use it next time! You city guys are prob in deep s#it cause of the racing crackdown! Its an easy write up and makes them look good!! The solution is to drive slowly and quitely like me!
