****ing snow...
I just got in, it's 12:30 right now. I went home from Nassau to Suffolk and the roads are TERRIBLE!
My tires are completely bald. I've been meaning to change them for the longest time. I have zero traction and control through turns. The car is worthless to me now.
Anyway, on route 231 South **** got ugly. I was traveling at 30 MPH south on the road. Visibility was poor and the snow was sticking. The car veered to the right and lost all control... I came very close to hitting the guard rail.
I yanked the wheel hard to the side and put it into neutral and pull up hard on the e-brake. The car leveled out nicely and instead of crashing into a metal guard rail I ended up half-way on the grass median unscathed. I came two inches away from hitting a "mile marker" pole too. I took a picture of the scene.
On the opposite side of the road another person crashed. 1/4 Mile down the road a person hit the guard rail and ended up in the ditch. A tow truck was there. I felt like a douch at the time, but after seeing all those other people crash I didnt feel so bad..
After that whole ordeal.... The road is now closed. Suffolk Police have it blocked off with road flares.
I'm taking the LIRR to work tonight.

I love the snow. Too bad I didn't believe the weather man. I just pulled off my rims and threw on my steelies wrapped in fresh Nitto all season tires. They are holding up quite well in these conditions. Also pulled off my carbon fiber hood and threw my old one back on, cuz I dont have windshield washer nozzles on the carbon fiber hood. My car has transformed into a winter beater. haha!

the only way home for me was going up a 100% ICE HILL, or down a 100% ICE HILL, So, I did niether.. Im @ my gf's house sleeping over! :O
tomorrow is going to be a bitch!!
tomorrow is going to be a bitch!! I got into another "crash" tonight. On the way too work I lost control of the car for the third time today and ended up in bush. There is no meat on my tires what so ever. All 4 tires are completely bald like my dad's head.
we got like at least 9 inches of snow and we got another 6-10 inches more today. i made my way home and the highway was not plowed. did not flip out at all. It was real fun tho when i plowed through all the snow on turns but it sucked when i had to shovel out my parking spot just to get in cuz i tried geting in by slamming my car into it but it didn't work and i kno my kit would be messed up if i kept trying.

lol...Well where I come from snow is just annoying no matter how much you get. My dad was supposed to head out to Jersey for a christmas party tonight but I don't know that he'll make it on account of most of the flights were cancelled. I just hope that the Devil's made it here for the game tonight.

Better you then us I guess. Don't worry, Canadians in general only laugh at Toronto when it snows because they actually had to call in the army to clean it up....he he he.
Wonder if your storm is headin this way?
We have like 12" on the ground here it seems. Been snowing since yesterday morning and is still coming down hard. I think it is nearly over though. I just took a picture of my car buried I cleared it off at about 3:00 yesterday to drive home from school and have left it since. This is how much we have gotten since then.. I'll see if I can figure out how to post it.

The Sayville branch does not run trains all night. Friday nights I usually get off at 4:45 AM. The last train back to Babylon is at 12:30 AM, then another one at 6:15 AM. It's a 17 mile drive. It took me 2 hours getting to work in the rush hour traffic on Sunrise. About 40 minutes on the way home. Nobody was on the road anyway, so it was fine. I ended up getting out really early at 12:30. I would have missed the the early train, good thing I had my car.
