2.0 i-vtec Civic in Thailand
2.0 i-vtec Civic in Thailand
This may hint at what's coming to us for 2004, or maybe not. Who knows? The head and taillights are nice. But the fact that this Civic has a K20 (160HP) in it from the factory is nice to see. It also has Front and rear disc brakes.

The commercail is pretty cool, can't believe it comes with a 5 speed automatic and real wood interior trim. You gotta believe that Honda will eventualy put the 2.0 in the Civic. I have one in my Si and its the smoothest running engine I've ever had.
How about putting it on a civic coupe, improving the suspension, throwing a nice exterior package (spoilers, rims, etc) and calling it an Si for Americans, Canadians and Mexicans?
Even Nissan is selling an auto version of the 2.5 liter engine (in Mexico) and it´s priced below the Civic.

I think they should make a civic coupe si again
I like the si hatchback but i wouldnt trade my civic coupe in for one but
if they made a civic si coupe with our em2 and a 160 horsepower si motor i would be at the dealer right now negotiating price . I wish we got the jdm stuff here that means we would have AWD civics but we dont get anything good here.

Hey! I live in Thailand and have test driven the 2.0 iVTEC. The engine is from the Honda Stream because they can't sell it, but it's got a kick. As for the rest of the car, it's suspension sucks big time and sways like hell just like the other civics. What's the point in having a fast engine if the suspension won't handle it.
Because its a lot cheaper and easier to go all out and re-do the suspension yourself with aftermarket parts than it is to drop an engine like that into the civic. Think along the lines of speding $500-1500 on suspension upgrades VS. a $3k-6k engine swap

To be REALLY honest, I have to say I don't care what they have in thailand except where it may impact the future of what is offered here in America. If the existance of a K20 civic (other than the Si hatchback) increases the likely hood of a similar car here, then I'm happy (R&D is already done). If no K20, then atleast give me those head and taillights.

do we have any members from thailand? maybe someone could get detailed pictures for us on how the engine is mounted etc. that would be great help to everyone. HAsport should look into this as well.. i mean nothing iss better then OEM design..
