How long does it take to build a car?

My dad just got his notice from BMW NA that his car had entered production... just wondering how long it takes to build a car start to finish.

I'm talking assembly... parts are all there... how long does it take to put it all together? I know for sure its not in months... cuz the car is due Mid-July and it's in Germany right now. Has to be something in days, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows how many.

most places wroll out a car every 30 seconds. I am guessing around 3 to 4 days for a regular in production car. For a car that is order I would say 6 to 7 days. But you also have to take in the fact of how long it will take to be shipped to you

Ford can make a mustang in 6 (or maybe 12) hours, I learned this in Autobody in high school. Any other car, if it's on the same process as mass produced cars, should take the same amount of time.

well, how hard is it to get the particular trim? cause that affects how long it takes, but yea it really should only take a few hours, but then again, it is a beemer, so they probablly hand build the thing, so it is gonna take longer

325xiT
Steel Blue Metallic
5 Speed (reason for special order )

My guess was a week, but I guess no one really knows. As far as packages go, all he got was heated power seats and the trip computer so I doubt he's adding much time for add ons.
I figure it'll take atleast 3 weeks to ship it over here by boat so from now that would make July 10, then get it here from a port probably adds a week... July 15 he's got a new Bimmer... right on time.
